Ovations are great I own 3. You do have to watch the humidity otherwise they do tend to surface crack. My '72 Pacemaker 12 string has 1 small crack in it. My '82 Balladeer and '06 LX are fine. Whenever I notice some swelling of something funky going on I crank up the humidifer. Melissa ROCKS ... and most of her stuff is real easy to play too.

Melissa is great. Ovation is total crap. I bought my first one in 1972. Head snap. The bridges pull up and they all crack here in the low humidity of Colorado. Kaman is one bad engineer.

i just dabble in guitar playing but my mom got me an ovation guitar (not the melissa etheridge brand because it's too expensive and i can't play a 12 string) solely for the reason that she plays it. my mom and i are HUUUUGE fans of melissa and i am SOOOOOOO pumped that she is now: Oscar Winning Melissa Etheridge! Keep rocking!
