  • yes! foreverrrr love!

  • I was there -second row just to his right- and I really did not hear too many people singing along with this song-did hear the lady behind me sobbing! It was truly an amazing-emotional experience!!

  • I do believe I was the lady behind you sobbing. This night was indeed one of the best nights of my life. I'm tearing up now just hearing this again. I was one of the lucky people that got an autograph after the show. There are no words to express how elated I was on this night. Thank you David for one of the most magical nights ever!

  • Heartbreakingly beautiful.

  • I watched the 1 posted by camilio (great job) many times.Even w fans'singing being louder here, effect is same 4 me..goosebumps n tears.Think David found it touching too that every1 cld relate so well to Permanent.I'm sure it meant alot to him.W/out the benefit of watching it live, this is the closest to feeling the emotions on that night.Of course, those w croaky voices, don't scream at top of ur lungs n drown his beautiful voice LOL.BTW,don't forget 2 wish him a Happy Bday..it's on 20Dec.Tks olga

  • i agree with BS0707. Its ok for the fans to sing along to this song. maybe these people can relate to him on this level. i think David would want his fans to sing along even to this beautiful song which hits home to him. its touching for the fans to do that.

  • Yes, you're right, it's okay for fans to react. I thought about it and let's face it David Cook put this on his album and so if fans want to react to it then fine. I think they are reacting more to his fanatastic vocals. People don't go to these types of concerts and be quiet. That's why the rock concerts are the best!

  • singing along is one thing (and i'm not sure i agree with it on this song), but i think the screaming and hollering should be left for the end. the song is too perfect to interrupt.

  • yeah..i agree..this one is toooo personal for him..when i heard some girls sing along(horrible voice..sorry)with this song..it kind a make me laugh a little..but i shouldnt,i should be crying not laughng..so it just ruin the atmosphere..

  • I actually wish people would reserve the singing for the choruses of the songs, and wouldn't drown out David. I'm there to hear him, not fans. And I agree this is the one song...that's just for him to sing.

  • I agree DCsGlory.. there are certain songs you should sing along with.. and this is not one of them.

This song is so personal to Dave and you should really just listen and not sing along. I find it kinda rude that people are singing along with this song..

  • Thank you, ktizzle. I really do love when fans sing along with any and every other song and scream their heads off - the louder the better. It's amazing. But this song is different. Listen to the lyrics, think of what he's saying. Look at him ... the man cries when he sings it. This song is the exception.

  • I know David loves when fans sing along and cheer all of his other songs, but geez, this song is like a hymn. Maybe we could assign more mature fans to clamp a hand over the mouths of singers and screamers during this amazing song by this beautiful man with a gorgeous voice. Please to anyone thinking about it ... DO NOT sing along or scream during this song in the future. Please.

  • Oh please. Be more mature. There's nothing wrong about singing along to this song. If I ever go to a concert and he sings this I will sing along. And for some reason I'm sure he will appreciate to have that reaction. His singing was for those there, and if they felt like singing they have that right. That's how it works in concerts.

  • David is a musician.

If he didn't want people singing along to his music, he would not be on that stage. It's every musician's dream to have their music appreciated by fans. Additionally, most of the fans know the story behind the song and sing along with the sentiment...which I imagine Dave takes to heart.

If you don't want to hear the crowd sing along to music, don't go to concerts.

  • I totally agree with you. Question though - what happened to the rest of his band? Don't hear anything about them since he won AI.
