You have the ration wrong, it's 2.7 to 8, most people do 3 to 8 for a hotter reaction but 4 to 8 would make it burn faster and dampen the effects.

@jaket2k8 The formula is Fe3O2 + 2Al= 2AlO + 3Fe So any iron rust and any aluminum would work. So, take some aluminum foil and grind it to a powder. Take an iron nail and mix w/ salt and water. Add some energy like heat or electricity and wait until you've got rust. You can then filter the rust with a coffee filter. Mix and light.
