Do you remember what the camp ground was called? Because I have similar memories of these camp grounds called "Coast to Coast" where you could travel all around the US and camp at their locations. They had all the same facilities that you mentioned. :) Good times!

In fifth grade, we had recorders that we got to keep too! The first song we learned was hot cross buns. Also, I auditioned to sing and the music teacher would walk around and listen to our voices. I wasn't singing very loud and was shy, so i didn't get the part.

that was really cool! i don't think I even knew about Ru. which I think is kind of sad. oh well I'm sure everyone has had their moments of humiliation by terrible singing. it's really hard for me because i hate to hear my voice when i mess up. others may think it sounds great but I'm trained to hear the mistakes in my voice. AND i cantor at mass but it's first thing in the morning so my voice isn't very stable, so my voice cracks a lot!
