I was a high school History and English teacher nearly 18 years ago. One of my students was Ferebee's nephew. If we didn't drop the bomb more Japanese, Americans, and Russians would have died and Russia would have gotten some claim on Japan. This was why the holocaust myth has been so vigorously pushed on the World - the Allies had to think of something even worse than mass death by atomic weapons, so as to make themselves look justified & on the side of "good".. Now the US & Isreal can do no wrong - any criticism of thier murder is met with "Ah, but the holocaust!".

Why Hiroshima???? Because Japan/Japanese invaded almost all of Asia & would not stop their bloody killing & invasions. Death toll from the bombs: 200k (inc 20k-30k J soldiers) Did you know Hiroshima as an Area Army headquarters? Look it up. Cost of invasion or blockade would've been FAR higher.

You are in DIRE need of some perspective & proportion. Yes, My Lai happened: less than a thousand dead. The Jap army killed 15MILLION Chinese civilians, and 5MILLION more in Indonesia and Malaya. The US never did ANYTHING like UNIT 731 or using bubonic plague v. civs like the Japs did.
Furthermore, J treatment of POWs and civ interness (US, UK, Aussie and Dutch) was horrendous. 35% died in capitivity.

I was a high school History and English teacher nearly 18 years ago. One of my students was Ferebee's nephew. His parents had indoctrinated him to believe that the A-bombs were an abomination and that we should never have dropped them. My specialty in grad school was B-29 ops and I got the experience of teaching him all about the wonderful Japanese Army and it's loving behavior in China, Phillippines, and other places. The nephew was starting to pop his head outta his ass by end of the year

You need to get your facts straight. Hiroshima was an Area Army headquarters under Field Marshall Hata. 20k-30k J soldiers died from the bombing. Furthermore, by 8/45 the J army was conscripting males 15-60 and females 17-40- so exactly how many J people were civilians?

I met a US Army veteran of Bataan who survived brutal conditions as a POW. We needed to stop the Japanese expansion by all means possible, even it if meant using nuclear bombs.

Do you truly think that the Japanese Army would stand in a circle holding hands so we could bomb? By August, no need to bomb Tokyo, it was 95% destroyed. Why Hiroshima? Because we hadn't bombed it hardly at all and there wasn't much industry there. What effect would bombing an already devastated city have? Propagandists would have denied the attack and there'd have been little dramatic value to shock them to a surrender. When ignorant, it's better that you not prove it by speaking, gunz.
