Thats one reason why old shows like these stand out as they do ---- Its a point in time with a specific collection of people that will never be duplicated - and their very resurgence here decades later proves it. Klemperer only agreed to play Klink because the writers promised him that Klink would always fail with his schemes. Banner on the other hand was used to play Nazis as he just looks German and has a German accent (when he came to the US he couldn't speak one word of the English language). Was difficult for him though, because his family actually died in KZ's...

oh I did not know that god bless his soul, with that said what an actor to be able to perform under such tragic circumstances. I love him dearly he is so jolly and has brought me much pleasure, as with millions of others. The same for Klemperer, both great comedians.

good for them, I just loved them, if you search there are some other videos of them on youtube, out of character, one of Werner on Pat Sajack, how distinguished he wasand jolly. Here is trivia for you Gen Burkhalter lived from 1907 til 2005, now he was a heavy man, sort of debunks the media hype about fat people. I just hate tv today, it makes celebrities into "Gods", and reality shows are garbage.

It was not banned in Germany. I love to watch the show in German and you can find lots of videos here on YT in German. Search for "Ein Käfig voller Helden" (German title of the show)

You should see Allo Allo. It shows for the French Resistance and a Cafe owner, turned the Germans on their head over there. You will love it

I used to watch it in German synchronisation, its even more funny because, klink has such a nice eastern german accent, and schultz is talkin bavarian, so funny !

@999mal I'm going on 52 yrs old, and your work loading these is DEEPLY appreciated - I hate the world as its become now and most of whats on TV the last few years, I cant tell you what it means to me when I find a favorite old show I watched in my youth, it brings back an era when things seemed so much better and I still had a reason to laugh.
