Awesome Job on this song... I still listen to them every now and then. I have both Copacetic and Simpatico but never got a copy of Gilded Stars and Zealous Hearts (sadly).
And I totally agree with you -" Velocity Girl is one of the lost great rock bands of the early 90's" .. they were among the few of my escape from the Grunge sound of the 90's. I was a big Lemonheads, Posies, and Teenage Fanclub (among others) then... never was big on Grunge.
I guess I'm lucky that I have all three CD's and the 6-Song Compilation. Right now, I'm waiting for Sarah Shannon's third album, if and when it ever comes out.
BTW, I was always okay with grunge even before Nirvana released "Nevermind" and the music industry started exploting it to the hilt.
I know, not many folks even knew of this band! Simpatico was my favorite album of theirs so I recognized the song right away. How did you get the double-vocal effect for your version?
By the way, best concert I ever saw was a Sugar/ Velocity Girl/ Magnapop show back in November of 1994. Amazing!
Finally another person who listens to this band...........
Sorry.........I'm just beside myself with glee.........
They were a wonderful band, and I've got a lot of my friends into "Simpatico"-----(and the first one, too, though the name seems to have slipped my mind)----------
Whoa, you got me with the first chord strum, great cover man.

I shoot the live performance, then send it to my studio program for additional guitars, vocal harmonies, effects, etc...........
Best show of my life was incidentally also in 1994...........They Might Be Giants w/ Frank Black (of The Pixies) opening by himself..........
They came out together and did "Frankenstein" by Edgar Winters as the encore..........
MIND-BLOWER!!!!!!..........
