That was just a rumour that is is fact wrong. They didn't release it as Slacker left XL Records and that is the sole reason. It did come out on an XL promo 12" vinyl and CD. I have both. The original title on XL is "Slacker's Bass Bug Mix". It was later bootlegged and Sasha listed it as "Slackermax" for his 1998 Creamfields Essential mix, which was just a typo as "max" was supposed to be "mix".
The reason this mix never got released was due to Slacker leaving XL Recordings - XL were unable to release the record due to copyright reasons. This is the same reason Virus 'Hypnotise' was never released when Paul Oakenfold left Warner Music.
Had a look on wiki (should have thought of that before lol), he's a label head who has collaborated with Carl Cox in the past, so if he's doing other stuff that explains why Slacker disappeared
yeah I was at Homelands when Sasha played it... it took the roof off the place!! do you have a copy of the set ? if not I have a copy somewhere if you are interested!
RIP Shem.. It's a Sad day for dance music.
