  • Hey man, I simply want to know what song u used in back ground I will be putting up the video of my 83 truck restoration soon, andd need a sound clip to.add and this sounds great.., btw one of the sharper 66's ive seen runnin around

  • Hey I need some advice!!! I am thinking about purchasing a '66 Mustang from a friend for $3,000..and want to know if its worth the money for what needs done. It has brand new tires, new mustang seats-all around, new headliner, new door panels, and new glass all through out the whole car. PROBLEM: someone rear ended the car and the whole back need replaced, along with both back side panels. Needs a new gas tank and brakes redone, which are included with purchase. Good buy or not? Worth restoring?

  • slash's car!!

  • Quite the video. Most people just show pictures. Love the clip of the exhaust at the end. Sweet ride. Eleanor colors without going over the top with body kits. Looks good to me.

  • Love how after the engine and tranny are pulled cars always look like they are taking a load off their wheels

  • hey bro nice car ¡¡ ur carburator 1406 600 cmf work perfect with this intake torquer II? i have a new 1406 carburator.. i don know .. i want buy air gap intake rpm..for my ford mustang 68 302 stok.. what do u think? in edelbrok page said : these carbs are recommended only for stock to Performer level applications. They are not recommended for use on RPM or Torker II intake manifolds. thx

  • I test drove a 67 and am thinking about driving it. Engine runs strong and looks very solid. Can I turn this car into a daily driver with 2 grand? I don't have any labor cost ...what usually needs to be done other than the obvious body work?

  • nice freakin' car, i love the paint job....pretty, i myself have a 1966 ford mustang...i love her!! :-D

  • Very nice job...may I ask, what do you have into the project total? Simply wondering what it takes to build up something like this. Thanks.

  • @MotoJB By now I have probably put $8000 to $8500 because I now have 4 wheel disc brakes, a road race suspension and used 17" Bullitt Wheels with 255/40/17 on the rear and 245/45/17 on the front.

  • @minter66 how much time did you put into it per day/week? and how long did it take to get it to this point

  • nice car man i just bought myself A 1966 mustang and im trying swap out this v6 289 engine for a v8 any suggestions on any good v8s?

  • omg theres a mustang 1966 original sale near my house for 20 500 swiss francs i'm dying fuck i'm just 16 years old =(

  • what color paint did u use on it?

  • That sure is a pretty sound. It brings tears to my eyes 'cause it reminds me of my 97 Cobra with Borla's and Bassani x pipe.

  • Awesome seats. What are those?

  • @ElRey69

Junkyard specials!! I believe they came out a Saturn SC2 or SC3

  • hey thats a good restoration. is it up for sale?

  • @jorgerealmadrid24

Sorry man, the only way this car is going away is if it gets totalled...which I drive maybe 1000 miles a year...doesn't see the road much.

  • @minter66 iwas wondering what you had to do to get the 16" 05 up v6 wheels on the car ? ihave the same car and wheels but i dont know the best way to put em on did u use spacers if so what thickness any info would be greatly appreciated thanks

  • Around how much did you spend on the project?

  • @weroo54597

I haven't kept a full tally, as of this video posting, I probably spent around $7000 total including the car (was $1200) and the engine ($1400). Since this video the car has had a brand new suspension installed (1" lower), 4 wheel discs from a 2007 GT (12.5"/11.65" rotors) installed and new Vintage Venom wheel adapter kits which allow me to run my 2004 Bullett Wheels. Someday I'm going to not be lazy and make a new video...

  • @minter66 It's definitely time to put up a new video of the car with the new modifications.

  • Did you spray that yourself in your driveway?

  • @BeezyGP Actually we sprayed it in the garage. We used paper drop clothes to create a dust barrier around the car and closed the doors (we used literal gas masks - full enclosure) while painting it inside. We brought out into the 110 degree Texas sun to bake it dry...Texas summers are good for something

  • good job...

  • how much money did u drop

  • Nice stang bro......Don't listen to the haters on your wheels....They look great on your car!

  • love it

  • hey great vid man, love the work done!

Im wanting to do get a 1966 mustang myself and do some work to it...however im from the UK so things are a little limited down here with mustangs.

Would you be able to give me info on where to start in the us? where would be the best place to look for one and where could i get help to restomod...?

    Any advice would be appreciated

  • Look forward to ur updated bid/pics. I have a 66 Coupe. It has an Edelbrock 600CFM 4 bbl, 289 Performer Intake, MSD ignition and Coil, R/V cam, Hooker Long Tube Headers. In the rear I've a 8 inch LSD with 3.25 gears. Its mainly a cruiser but every now and then I like to slam the pedal!

  • Great video of your project. I like everything about it except the rims. I think they are from a 2006/07 V6 stang. I would have put torq thruster II's on her.

  • @lp32862

Well actually this past weekend I did my 2007 GT 4 wheel disc conversion and have 2004 GT Anthracite Wheels on there now. The 05 V6ers won't fit over the huge calipers now. So I am running the nice Torque Thrust wheels from an 04. I will get a new video up eventually, the car has changed alot

  • thanks man ill post the pic up when it done i think i am gonna take it to champion speed and Restoration in costa mesa ca

  • Yeah thanks ... This is my dream car... I'll see if I can find one less than $4500.. That's a nice ride you have btw...

  • HOW MUCH SHOULD I SPEND ON MY FIRST MUSTANG... I'm a 18 college student...mustangs 1966-1969 are my dream cars... If I want a automatic mustang how much would it cost me.. I only have about 1800 now..... But I Wang my first car to me a similar mustang to this....

  • @Hector3158

Not very much if it is not in running condition. If you see at the beginning of my video, my car was a rust bucket. I spent $1200 on it, but got a lot of goodies. If you can find one that needs body work, but runs and drives well, spend double that. I knew a guy back when I was in high school (1998-2002) that bought a fully restored 1966 Mustang Coupe for $5400.00

Coupes are cheap, look around and you can find a great deal for less than $7000 running/driving.

  • do you know by any chance how much it would cost to put a 302 into a inline 6 parts and everything to make it a daily driver

  • @562bossup

See my post at the top about that. Roughly $300-$400 using all new parts

  • by any chance do u know how much it would cost to swap a 302 into a 66 inline 6. i am trying to look around for a reasonable price to make it a daily driver

  • @562bossup

You are definitely looking at the cost for new (or used if you can find them) v8 spindles and springs. I do not know if the lower control arms and A frames can be swapped, but I wouldnt think so (so add those in)

Plus Tie rod ends, new bushings and rubber...probably $300 - $400 total new, or if you have a V8 donor car, half of that.

But definitely do it, the power, if not the sound is worth it!!

  • sick video...im a 14 yr old kid with a 66 mustang passed on down to me,it runs but it need some other random stuff....i want to eventually put a t5 in it and make it awesome like yours...nice job

  • @hondastar11

    Thanks man!

  • Nothing beats the sound of a classic American car.

Nicely done man, you brought that Pony back to life.

  • Damn thats got balls! I just finished a 66 conv. restomod 289 with new cam pistons air intake, headers, mufflers and holley 4 barrel carb, but it doesn"t sound quite as good as yours, but it's still hot! Nice job dude!

  • @shockkwave2004

It's the flowmaster 1 Chambers (basically no exhaust ) and the hooker headers (2.5" Ceramic) that give it the deep noise.

Finally got it timed and tuned this past weekend and now it idles so low and slow that I can hear my cam turning over and I can hear the lope. I gotta get a new video up on here with all the new mods I've done to it.

  • i love this video the feeling of finishing a resto must be amazing especially on a 66 stang im trying to get a 66 convert with a 4 speed for 1400 but the guys a stuborn ass, great car man good luck

  • @DIMEBAGJIMMY426

Thanks man, it was a long hard restoration, but worth it.

  • Sweet! nice stang.. how do you like the T5 is it holding up good?

  • @1mesterious

For free and used, it is holding up great. Synchros are doing great and it handles the horsepower this car has quite well.

  • love it but..change the wheels!

  • this is a nice mustang i usally only like the fast backs but this one look like the shelby gt500 in gone in 60 seconds but with a different body

  • I have many questions, how can we talk???? Just starting to restore my very first '65'.

  • I want your car! lol i want to get a 66 stang so bad ive resorted to selling all my stuff on ebay and this is the exact color rims and interior tht i want..........you are one lucky guy

  • Thank you very much for the comment. I love this car and know how lucky I am, they are getting rarer and rarer. There are still a lot of things wrong with it though. This weekend I am taking it to my dad's garage (that has a hydraulic lift built into it) and replacing the flywheels because I can't get it above 4500rpm on the dyno...I think the flywheel is unbalanced.

  • no gas cap???

  • Not on the outside. That is one of the styling points of the classic cars that I absolutely hated. So the hole has been glassed over and the filler nozzle was cut in half and now the tank is filled internally by just popping the trunk and sticking the hose into the trunk. Gives it a different look.

  • Great video! Great soundtrack! Two projects - yours and Mr. Parson's... :)

  • Sounds nice! Hearing a classic Mustang come to life is a good feeling (especially with a good cam). Been there, done that.

  • is it just a 285 or did you go bigger on the engine?

  • I believe you are referring to the 289 (4.7L) and that was what was originally in it. I put a 302 bored .40 over (roughly 5.1L)

  • aren't 289s 4.6L?

  • 281 = 4.6L

  • nice car man im looking forward to doing mine this summer i just would like to know how much it cost total and what engine you have in it?

  • I think total cost of EVERYTHING to get it running and driving down the road was $7000 including the cost of the car. It hurt having to put most of my extra paycheck into this car, but now it is worth it. Soon I will be doing some new work to it (disc brakes, posi 3.73 gears, buffing the paint and fixing that body kit up)

  • hey man nice car! What seats did you use???

  • Leather seats out of a Saturn SC2

  • very nice car man and you did it up real nice can't wait to have one of these cars

  • wat color code is that silver cuz my car is ready for paint

  • Did you also powder coat the bumpers?

  • Actually those are just painted with a 2 stage paint as well. You just have to take a 50 grit sanding pad and attach it to a drill and rough up the chrome on the bumpers. The primer/paint/clearcoat stick REALLY well after doing that. No flaking or cracking of paint. I think it really "modernizes" the car by putting unibody colored bumpers on it.

  • were did you by the tail lights or did you just pain them black

  • The tail lights are NOS (new old stock) tail lamp bezels that were taken to a powder coating shop, blasted and coated in flat black. Cost was around $40 total (I also powdercoated my front/rear windshield trim)

I have also added new LED tail lights, I hope to get those uploaded soon!

  • Yeah just wondering because i have a 65 that me my dad and lil bro did body work on but i paid like $1500 for paint, but she has come a long way since we got her.

  • Nice job man! did you paint it yourself?

  • Yep...it's what I call a "father-son" garage paint job. We still need to work out the clearcoat issues (some dulling in some areas that need to be cut/buffed)

Paint was ~$400 whereas it would have cost $2000-$3000 to paint it professionally.

  • nice car man, you made that thing look amazing. way to save a legend!

  • Thanks man! About 3 years now I have been restoring the car. The finishing touches are going on this weekend (rear seat delete kit, repaint some damaged paint, screw gauges in and glove box in)

  • I'm trying to install those same wheels on my 65 fastback. What width spacers did you use, and what size tire to make it all fit so well?

  • Sorry for the late reply. I used 1" aluminum spacers from Summit Racing. I wish I had the part number, but I don't anymore. The tires are Kumho 205/50ZR16. Not much width, but you might be able to squeeze 215/50ZR16 without rubbing the rear leaf springs.

  • Nice, those wheels look awesome on there too.

  • Thanks man. I was hoping people liked them.
