He actually recieved a fine for not returning to park ferme on time.. even if he did have enough fuel he still would have got pole position. @quattro248 He did have enough for a fuel sample. He shut the engine off, which the rules didn't specifically say you couldn't do. It was only afterwards that they clarified that a driver must drive all the way back to the pits. Was fined anyway, so there's your punishment.

He is so humble. When Massa was having his hissy fits in 2011, Lewis was the first one to try and sort that out - he is a very humble guy, I have never seen him actively try and pursue any kind of grudges.

according to the FIA regulations ...after the pole hot lap each driver has the obligation to return to the pits by it's own power and a sample of 1 liter of fuel is required to be in the tank...otherwise a penalty of losing 10 positions from his achieved position if the qualifying session...
