What are you trying to say?...That you'll kick *my* ass, for daring to suggest that fair and open discussion is preferable to ass kicking? O.o
I was replying to NewKhorne, who mentioned ass-kicking. I wasn't judging if you HAD, or HAD-NOT, provided 'an ass-kicking'; just stating that I do not think it is the answer.
If I had to judge, no the video is slightly inflamatory at worst. & As I stated before, the comments section, is merely rude.
@DarkSideOfWinter You misunderstand, I was asking, because I didn't know what you were implying, your comment was too vauge for me to judge. I don't know you, so it was just the 'prepare for the worst' guess.
I think, describing any instance where you know someone /can/ be offended as "slightly inflamatory at worst" (Read 'slightly' and 'at worst') is fair. The situation does have possible emotional fallout.
Better not to assert others needs, with so little evidence of them.
At any rate this video did not merit his rudeness or his down right childish attacks on other sex-workers rights activists recently on twitter. He has been a down right fucktard there
I will... Ah... He IS being quite rude in there. I think he's not interested in a reasoned discussion. What a shame. Perhaps he'd be no good at it anyway, from the look of things.
He has no right to be trashing you, or anyother sex-rights activists. His only correct point was having the right to an opinion, if that opinion is flawed, well then everyone else has the right to tell him so. And there shouldn't be any bashing of them for doing it.
@NewKhorne - To correct myself, and be more clear: I meant, that was as close as he came to an insult (saying 'pozzies') and I'm guessing now that it must mean sex-positives.
Even still, I really can't see it as a reason to trash him and try to encite a worse argument. It's still trivial.
Also I appreciate the video and let me make a couple more points. I did not say that prostitutes should be ignored outright. In fact I clearly stated in my post quite the contrary. My objection is that I should somehow be obligated to submit my opinions to sex workers for approval. That doesn't fly with me. I would say that pro legalization/decrim folk also need to inform themselves with some basic civics and what rights are and are NOT, and how the process works. It will serve your cause well
Would you make a sweeping descion on the the safety of miners without their approval? Good luck with that. That you can with sex workers clearly strengthens my opinion on what you take for granted and a prostitute cannot
@DarkSideOfWinter Actually I don't need to consult with miners to know that mining safety regulations are a good idea. Let me remind you again that sex workers also have a conflict of interest in these issues. Which I don't have a problem with but will take into consideration. As I will state AGAIN, I don't have a problem with sex workers having a seat at the table. I have a problem with the attitude that they should be the ONLY ones sitting at the table. Ya feelin' me?
@DarkSideOfWinter I don't give a shit about the 'opposite side'. Assuming you're talking about 'antis', they're actually not your problem. You need to learn how to deal with statehouses and city halls and wasting your time with internet nobodies wont accomplish that. I don't support blanket prohibition OR blanket decrim. As I said, I believe that local jurisdictions should decide
@HeavyTrafficAhead "I don't give a shit about the 'opposite side'. Assuming you're talking about 'antis', they're actually not your problem"
They are very active in the political field and therefore MY PROBLEM. Clearly if a few internet nobodies is not your problem why are you commenting at all?
@HeavyTrafficAhead When you consider the amount of money that went into campaigns like prop 8 from religious institutes, it's not like the pro's (you sanctimonious assole) have much influence or advertising power, and the men who run the porn industry have no interest in supporting sex worker rights. What's in it for them?
You made too much of my example. I also made an example of having to personally consult with Obama to have an opinion on his policies. What I see from a lot of 'sex workers' is that they also ignore or downplay the fall out from the activity of prostitution. Let's also consider that there is also a conflict of interest. You also undercut your own argument by saying we can be informed about steroid use. I think that the same applies to 'sex work'. Why is your particular situation different?
@HeavyTrafficAhead One is about the morality of fair sport, the other is about the experience in a particular field of expertise, even you should know the difference.
Prohibition was enforced because of an ill thought out, ill informed strategy. So I fail to see how it is undercut. You used a poor justification, rethink it.
@fatalerror404TV you're nit picking. Okay do I need to be a distiller if I want to decide if the county I live in is dry or wet? Look at the general gist of my original post instead of picking at my choice for an analogy
@HeavyTrafficAhead No I'm not, you used a poor choice of words. You're just being arrogant at this point. and the discussion has only just started, thanks
@DarkSideOfWinter Actually I was speaking to ashe, but all the same. Once AGAIN, I did NOT say prostitutes should be outright ignored, just thay I am not OBLIGATED to discuss the issues of legalization/decrim. The health issues are but ONE aspect of the issue. Primarily I focus on the political and governmental aspects. Which I don't hear you pozzies talk about all that much, if at all. Much to the detriment of your cause
@DarkSideOfWinter and just as an aside. One my arrogance has nothing to do with the issue/ Ad homs will get you nowhere. AND my position is that it should be up to local jurisdictions to decide if they want legal prostitution, decrim it, and how and where it should be regulated and taxed. FULL STOP. I Appreciate your feedback, but this is going downhill quick. I'm out
Well I think it's safe to say from his asshat reaction in the comments you gave him a well deserve ass kicking
NewKhorne 1 month ago
@NewKhorne Look, seriously, I have no idea what this is about, but his comments here were not 'asshat'ish. He was annoyed, but not impolite.
(I don't know what 'Pozzie' means, but I'm guessing that's what he was thinking was an insult?)
There's no need for you to be rude to him.
Ass-kicking, are not the remedy for disagreements, fair, open discussion is.
Encouraging beligerence should not be a part of it, please, consider that when dishing out insults so freely over something trival.

@PurpleGhost Did I imply that? Nope. I was implying you haven't seen me kick ass. And it doesn't involve an ego trip like most people.
If you find me politely pointing out a flaw in his logic inflammatory, then girl, you have a lot of growing up to do

I didn't say that. I asked you you alter them without consolation.
And no one said they should be the only ones at the table. NOT ONE person here. The opposite however has NOT been as forthcoming has it?

First of all your derogatory "Pozzie" helps... not
and second of all you clearly haven't been listening to them, which proves my point as they do talk about it, constantly
