Why do they compare an XK Jag to a 911? Sometimes they compare an M3 to a 911. The slowest 911 will do 275-280 km/h, the M3 only does 250 limited, maybe a bit more unlimited. A 911 is a sport car, an M3 is sport coupe based on a sedan and the XK is GT or grand tourer. Compare apples to apples please. Also the 911 is designed for the driver so more money is spent on its chassis, steering, balance. The Jaguar spends more money on refinement, noise reduction, equipment.

here's some issues you might wanna consider:

1) it's too freakin' heavy

2) it's too freakin' slow 0-60, 1/4 mile and top speed

3) it's hard to fix and expensive to fix

4) not too overpriced but still overpriced a bit... this isn't the biggest complaint :)

yeah, I like jag but 3 out of 5 stars is all i'd go with

@rtardbox It's lighter than all it's competitors including a DB9, Mazzer and 250kg lighter than a Merc SL Bi-Turbo.

Any object this sort of money will be expensive to fix, whether it's a watch, car or furniture. It's all relative.

The worlds motoring press, even an high-ranking Audi engineer admit it's the worlds best GT.

here's some factor you might wanna consider:

1) it's way lighter than M6 & SL 63(400~600lb)

2) It's faster than M6 & SL63 according to Car & Driver Mag(the only magazine did a real 0-60 test, not using the factory data)

3) it's has 5 years 5000 miles warrantee with free maintenance

4) cheaper than SL63 & M6(with the same options)

Most of all, Jag just got 5 starts rating, top 3 on reliability on March 2011 by JD Power

the best bit of that car is, that it is in basic an aston martin, since aston uses almost everything from jaguar, except the bodywork and the interior. so you get a much cheaper, very similar looking and performing car.

@methaman1 the whole idea of this car i believe is its a stripped out version of the xkr so more sporty with alot more performance but as he says its not actaully stripped out. the gt3 is a stripped out version of the regular carrera s aimed for harder drivers like this one. and the 911 turbo is way way to expensive to compare.

this car in my opinion is perfect.. its weighs alot but it would grip like fuck and with 530hp i dont think it would be slow

Yes it is, but in my opinion the XKR is consider the fastest production one because it comes from a normal production model with many other versions...but it's a personal idea.. ;-)

Not really... It seems those numbers are for each region or country. For example in the U.S. it's called the XKR 175 because it will be limited to 175 U.S. models, while in Europe it's the XKR 75 because 75 will be sold there. At the same time Japan will get the XKR 75 because 75 will be sold there as well. So yes it'll be limited, but not near as much as Jaguar would like you to believe.

It looks absolutely stunning. I doubt it's a match for Porsche on the track, but how many buyers actually go on track days anyway? You won't notice the difference in day-to-day use.
