I am using this technique combined with i-cord bind-off around a Mobius shawl. I haven't found a similar edge treatment on the web & thought I was a genius.....should have known Cat does it already! I love my hats covered with these, but they do get stares. Not always good ones either. It falls in the same frame of mind as "dance like no one is watching"!!!!
This is the perfect answer to how to make a fringe using Lion Brand Homespun without having all the fringe edges fray horribly! When I make a scarf with Homespun yarn, I have had to crochet a cute ruffle... Now I have this method.. I can't wait to start making one.. I have garbage bags of Homespun to use up in different colors. Only ONE end to worry about fraying instead of the hundreds in a normal fringe.
I made a hat for my teen daughter in our school colors covered in these tendrils and she LOVES it! She always wears it to football games and gets many many compliments.
i gotta say, because of you i can knit perfect socks, when i always struggled before..i have even applied your sock toes totop down hats of all kinds, especially premee hats. tho i am an english, 'throw' knitter, your patterns are easy......thanks again for another awesome little 'thingy!"
the answer to the "Peas in a Pod" baby hats that I have been making - "knit in" tendrils instead of crocheted and stitched on at finish - thanks, again, Cat. As always, you are a brilliant source of knitting inspiration.

WoW Love the tendrils - they are addicting, just like you said.
I have to say thank you to everyone who commented, too.
It's so great cuz I also learn a lot of good hints from them!

I love these! There's a project on my to do list that will be great with these tendrils.
What yarn are you using? I love the color changes in this and the yarn you use on your mobious cast on video.

These would be great for knitted amigurumi! Thanks. :) By the way, what needles are you using? They don't look like bamboo so I'm curious.

I haven't knit in over 3 years (since I tore my rotor cuff) BUT, this sure makes me want to dig my yarn out and give it a go! Thanks, Cat ;)
