If you like Archie Bunker check out on Utube "mike makes his move 2-3" about 2;50 in Archie and the guy that Edith found that escaped from the nursing home sing a chorus of this song, Carroll O'Connor has a beautiful voice, I love this one.
My parents used to sing this together, with my mom doing the harmony. My dad had a lovely tenor voice and my mom was an alto. I can still hear them decades later. This really brings them back to me in a very special way.
My mother did as well, for me (oldest) and my five little brothers and sisters. I now sing it to my kids. Not a lot of children under 10 who know that song :)
Wow, very powerful, beautiful, lyrics that are eternal. Suprisingly Ringo Starr had a very good version in 1970 recording "sentimental journey". Thank you so much for sharing.
Dear Jiggy - My father used to sing that song to me when I was a very small child. Thanks for the memory. (I haven't found Dalrock yet, but following your clue I have talked to someone who knows him. Thanks)
Well that dates you as far younger than God. :D This recording is only about 90 to 100 years old. If you'd like to hear it from a nicer player I've included it on "Little Wonder Collection Part 1". Feel free to check it out.

i bet you a million bucks (just kidding) that this can play 16-inch records!

@vinylloung Now that you mentioned it, a 5 inch record makes it look like a long tonearm but it's actually kind of short.
