Play the 7th fret of the G string, pull off to 6th fret, then you can just go down to the 7th on the D string, hit the 6th, go to the 7th on the A string, and lastly 7th on the E (which will be the B) By doing that, you save wrist work and it's all done in 2 frets.
There are a lot of ways you can "Optimize" your playing on bass. Keep rockin' man.
Just a little split second lag, still pretty good

Should break the habit of using your thumb, learn to walk(alternate finger picking). This song would actually be good to practice that on.
& when I do this song for worship I play it primarily on the E string, rock those low notes.
Stay classy.

Hey man, there are a lot of easier variations to play it.
Example, at 0:52 in your cover
Play the 7th fret of the G string, pull off to 6th fret, then you can just go down to the 7th on the D string, hit the 6th, go to the 7th on the A string, and lastly 7th on the E (which will be the B) By doing that, you save wrist work and it's all done in 2 frets.
