yes, cats can swim but they have to do this only in emergency situations (like when they fall in the pool by accident). but the thing is that cats shouldn't be bathed or have contact with water because they have a special something on their fur that is very important for their survival.there was an experiment done with a cat they didn't let her lick her fur and evetually it died. cats clean themselves and take care about their hygiene without any human help.
