@PeteDuel1971, god, I really miss Friday nights at 8:00pm and the Dukes. For me as a kid, the Dukes of Hazzard was a weekly event! I remember being in denial about the General Lee getting destroyed after a jump sequence because I loved that car so much and still do. I wish some hollywood folks would realize that we need shows like this again. For all the RIGHT reasons!
The Duke family, although a fictional family, taught us about how to treat people and how to live right. If you remember, The Dukes were always mannerly and treated everyone with decency. Uncle Jesse always taught right from wrong. Even Boss Hogg and Rosco were really not that bad.
@charger19691 I agree with you 100%. I wasn't born when "Dukes of Hazzard" was on originally but after watching reruns and the DVDs, I learned a lot of about respecting people and becoming friends. I'm 21 now and it's my all-time favorite show. Thanks to the Dukes of Hazzard.
@dannyd1572, you are so right. I feel bad for kids today because they missed a great era of television. I'll always love The Dukes of Hazzard. Never missed an episode and The General Lee is still my favorite car of all time. Thanks Gy Waldron for creating this terrific part of Americana that will truly never fade!
Im a guy and this brings tears to my eyes. Its almost like the lost family you had when you were eight and its a family reunion. They were so much a part of our culture that I don't think anyone could understand that today.
@MiniJanetOnTap Still a Dukes of Hazzard fan at heart. But I like other shows like the Dog the Bounty Hunter. Yes I know its not like the dukes, but its entertaining. Stop judging me.
I am really glad that from all of the dukes of hazzard movies that I saw on here today (the reunion and this one) there are no dislikes. I can't imagine someone not liking this show it is amazing.
Where was Tom Wopat (Luke Duke) when this Anniverary was taking place and sadly Nobody did not one time meachent Tom's name throughout the whole time they are talking about the past
@MegaMusclecarman No I found an article and the article stated that John told the writer that he was doing broadway when this was filmed and he could not make it. I don't have the article anymore.
THE BEST! This really made my day. Brings back the warmest of childhood memories when all my troubles went away...and the Dukes of Hazzard was there right after Judge Wapner and Doug Louellan on the People's Court LOL. 5 STARS!
I met John Schneider on the Dukes of Hazzard set at Warner Brothers Studios when I was a runaway teen in 1980. He saved my life that day and 20plus years later he's still one of my heroes. Love you John. Wish you can come and sing for our troops when they come home in Febrary2009 from Iraq. My husband is amongst them. Sgt. Alexander. We miss and love you. See you next year.
I love dukes❤
