Does anyone know if you have to pay royalties when you take a sample from someone else's song, or doesn't it count when you've manipulated the track? That's if you want to sell it at a gig or whatever.

The MPK49 is only a controller...it does not chop, sample or have any sounds. You need an actual program such as Garageband or Recycle to sample and chop.

@Assuredterror391 Yes, what the MPK49 is is a MIDI Controller. It's so you can play your instruments in your program (FL Studio for example) using a real keyboard instrument, instead of clicking the notes in.

Nice song... I do love the original. I have a question. I am using Ableton Live instead of reason. I am trying to do a simple things wich is maybe into the mpk49 settings. I would like to play my entire sample when I am hiting my pad instead of to be oblige hold it to plan the entire sample. Do you have any idea how i could do that ? Cheers

@TheMindTrip2 for production i actually just use an mpc and do all the post stuff in protools.. i used Fl for a couple years then moved to reason for a couple years, then on to garage band, but as soon as i got an MPC i rarely use software for the production of music.

@4theyehiphop While I totally believe its the MAN not the Machine.. I cant agree with you more. An MPC is just wuts really good to me. I use a 2500 w/ JJOSXL & absolutely LOVE IT. I do use anything I can get my hands on as a sound mod, like reason5, vsti's in cubase, Kontakt & ANY N.I. instruments cause they sound great, and obviously SAMPLES SAMPLES SAMPLES. I'm even trying to get into Ableton, despite it being the most difficult SW learning curve I have exp in 15 yrs of making music. MPC4life
