  • Get a notebook and draw pictures of the moves and describe how to get into them if you don't want or can't find a book.

  • You said that you were in london when you were learning trapeze, and i would like to know where did you go because i really want to do the trapeze but i actually need to find a trapeze school because at the moment i only learn trapeze at lunch time in my school.

  • i'm 14 and looking into doing static trapeze.

i asked my parents and im not allowed a pull up bar aparently i have enough junk i don't use anything else i can do to build my strenght.

also how flexible should i be?

any help will be so good thank you :)

  • @666darkhawk You can try going to the park they usually have pullup bars there or monkeybars :D

oh and you can always try doing pushups, situps, ect.

  • Hi Amelie,

I take classes at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts and it's great to find a fellow enthususiast...especially one who has such a well-spoken and organized way of helping fellow aerial students. Thanks!

  • @ozajacz99 Thank you so much! It's thrilling to get to connect with circus artists like you from all around the world. Let me know if you have ideas on other videos.

  • @amelieleroi I was interested in getting information about the rosin and the pull up bars that you mention in the video but those links don't work. Can you send me the URLs? I subscribed to aerialamelie. The videos were fun to watch and I am in total sympathy with your progress on rope!

  • Great video. Can't live without my arnica! I can totally relate to feeling like you were in a car wreck after every class. You are so right about the conditioning and yoga. Do you think the book you mentioned would be helpful for single point trapeze (flying trap as some call it)?

  • @mogroovee Thanks for the comment! The books I mentioned aren't really useful for single point (dance) trapeze. But I have seen this book "Aerial Dance" by Jane Bernasconi that was good. It even came with a DVD of some unique aerial dance performances. You can get it on Amazon. Hope that's helpful!

  • @amelieleroi Thanks so much. I look forward to more of your videos.

  • @fyers89 - Also, I'm not a rigging expert, but you should definitely make sure the rig point can sustain the force of not just your weight, but factor the increased weight for drops. I believe the ratio is 200 kg/person x 10 but am not certain about that.

  • @amelieleroi Thanks for the reply! I doubt i'll put it in my house, although i have seen the new trapeze with a frame around it to stick out your back door, it's just so expensive though! I already am addicted, can't get enough! I checked out some of your vids, fantastic stuff you're really good!! x

  • Hi there, great video, i just started doing static trapeze.. i've been looking at buying a trapeze, do you know where and how are they usually hung for people to practice on? x

  • @fyers89 be prepared to become obsessed! There are lots of factors to consider when rigging a trapeze. Unless you have a super high ceiling, it's very difficult to have the right amount of space above and below the bar to train properly. Trapezes come in all shapes and sizes so you'll need to do the math to work out how long your ropes need to be. Polyester straps are great for rigging a trapeze. You can find them at firetoys.com.

  • I never even knew about the pull up bars. Thankyou! Thumbs up for kitty in the background too! :)
