Trovo Imagine esageratamente lunga e ripetitiva dal punto di vista musicale e poco interessante nel testo (che tra l'altro è stato frainteso in quanto si rifaceva ad un'ideologia comunista più che ad una idea di pace universale). I think the comments show exactly what John lennon was trying to aim for in this song. Religious people love to cause chaos, and get very violent (eg, hoping someone is burning in an afterlife, btw, sheol isnt positive or negative, its mostly darkness, shows what you know) if you dont agree with them.
John lennon is 100% right, the words are chilling, such simple words, such a simple message. Very difficult, if not impossible to put into practice. Shame

Which is what Johns song is all about, listen to the lyrics, imagine no religion, imagine no countries, imagine no posessions, without these things we dont have to fight. Its only once a human being has a cause, or something to hold onto, that they can become offended, and wish to exact some form of justice. Your book doesnt impress me, its contradictory and outdated.

Also people continue to read and believe it despite it being thousands of years old because most human beings are thick as shit, and need comforting due to being scared of the unknown, which the bible caters for perfectly. It answers all questions without giving any actual particular answer. However, there are dozens of religions that didnt make the cut, yours is just lucky, simple as that.
