@solidsmurf Tallarn Flesh followed by a wash of Gryphonne sepia. Then Tallarn flesh mixed with a little white, mixing medium and water. Add a little more white and then hit the higher areas. Repeat once more.
I've tried to film tutorials, but it always negatively affects my painting, what with the camera getting in the way. I've seen some turorials about how to film those things, but I just can't get it to work right. Maybe I should invest in a clamp to hold the camera over me.
bloody hell..., dev! it's vids like these that make me wanna give up! -_-
anyway, they look great! love the thirth kung fu kikcing kinda dude, I'm sorry, not into warmachine...,yet..,but it's vids like hteses that make me spenc money! @_@
Wow Dev I like these alot bud. They're different from what everyone else seems to be doing all the time. Your paint schemes ares pretty cool and as always excellent job doing them!
Really good to hear you have gotten your health back...that is a pretty amazing accomplishment for not feeling 100 per cent...Superb paint jobs, buddy...and I enjoyed the variations of skin tones on the monks...yeah, playability and cool factor don't always match up...that's when the hobbiest in us has to take over...hope you get a chance to field that great army soon....looking foward to your next project...Jim.
Great looking menoth! What is your method for painting whites? It always takes a long time to paint them. Also - what colors did you use for highlighting black on high reclaimer's robes?
@MGralka For white I use Menoth White Base, highlighted first with Menoth WhiteHighlight, then finally with Morrow White. When highlighting I make the paint really really thin using water and a little mixing medium, and then I just layer it in progressively smaller areas. For the robes, I started with Chardon Granite, then washed it with Badab Black. I used Astronomican Grey for highlights.
That is an impressive output for one month. With a fair amount of detail too. I have a Khador battleforce myself asking to be painted so when/if I ever get them done I throw up a video for you.
As you have white as the predominate colour have you given any thought to doing something like rock salt weathering. Personally I think it adds a lot of character to a model. Either way a fantastic offering though.
Those look awesome Dev, great work!
