BTW, another probable reason why Dollop took so long to kill was that I had to use the Twin Knife instead of the Sword you get in this stage. I think the Sword is stronger but it's just too slow.
The Sword is stronger on dungeon demons but I think you'll find that the strength of a weapon doesn't affect the hit count of a Guardian or Surface World denizen. (Flashing Trolls are a dead giveaway of this)
I used to count the number of hits on Trolls/Werebats and Guardians purely out of curiosity.
In other words... they have a fixed amount of power.
I used an emulator since these have a built-in record movie function. I'm not sure how to obtain a movie using an actual SNES. I have beaten this game on an actual SNES way back in the past though. Seeing all the videos of old games here on Youtube gave me a nostalgia kick. That's why I replayed the game again (and created/posted the videos).
god i love this game, its really hard but i beat it

Equinox came before Family Guy.
But all the same, I suppose the character Quagmire has a lot in common with this Guardian....
He's a total slime.
