I have 2 cats and both do that only at one certain place. One does it on a very soft and fluffy blanket like yours, the other one sits down on a big fat stuffed dog and does it. Both purr loudly then. :)

It's obvious that this cat was taken away from his/her mother too early. It's nursing onthe blanket for vicarious satisfaction and feels very comfortable. Nothing to worry about. Just a little habit.
when they are babies, they push against the mother's teat as they nurse. When the cat reaches adult hood they still knead with their paws when they are content and feel secure. As they are all individuals, some will invariably do it more than others. It is a definite possibility that a kitten taken away from the mother too soon might have more of a tendency to knead...I have seen some that drool as well. Good thing to know they are happy and well taken care of
