Ehrman almost universally begins all his debates by insisting he used to be a born-again, that he saw MASSIVE (not apparent but MASSIVE) contradictions relevant to Christian beliefs that cannot be reconciled, then highlights his own views that the bible is unreliable.

Then he goes off about his credentials and reading originals in Greek, mentions we don't have the original copies, and affirms all this as if NOBODY ELSE in his field could ever disagree with him.

Dude, sorry to say this, but you make no sense! Fyi, if muslims quote Dr. Ehrman, they do so to affirm their position that this bible is not the word of god based on its textual structure and history. In other words, Dr. Ehrman, a learned expert in the subject, is a third party examiner of the facts. Even though he began his life as a devoted christian. Based on scholarship, he concurred with the islamic position regarding the bible, yet he is not a muslim.

It's funny that Ehrman claims he cant comment about the Quran because he is no scholar. You dont have to be! If one book cant be divine because of some standards, then it goes for another book as well based on the same standards. Fact is that we dont have the original Quran since Uthmann burnt the originals. So therefore, by Ehrman's standards, the Quran cant be divine. But Ehrman doesnt go there since he knows he will have to be under survailance if he does. Muslims dont exactly "pray for u".

exchristian i watched the first 4 mins of your video then i stopped you fail to realize that dr ehrman discovered nothing new in his studies as christians and other biblical scholars have studied what he knew for a while. he came to his own radical conclusion and the REAL reason he lost his faith was suffering. peace and god bless

Ehrman did lose his faith becuase of the problem of suffering. Would that mean he had a low view of sin? I think so. the reason White brought up the Quran was to see if Ehrman was consistent. Ehrman admits he knows nothing about Islam but as I said he sits on the "chair" of his religious department. But in exchrisitan videos he says why not let non Christians critique the Bile. That is fine and they do all the time. But the same goes for you and Islam. You said that Ehrman is not an Isalmic scholar. So I ask you why won't you let non Muslim scholars critique the Quran? Be consistent in your standards...

um why not. I show the video and like many muslims you zare assuming something. First, it was just a review not a full reveiw. they are just my thoughts about it really. I see you like Ehrman so much no matter what error he trhrows in your face, you accept it. Not all Biblical scholars come to Ehrmans conclusions. His teacher Bruse Metzger did not become a radical skeptic. The so called errors do not effect the meaning at all and White demonstrated this.
