Yeah it is. Having been stuck in many traffic jams, I just relax and ease along. I hate it but found it did me little good to get hyper over traffic especially when my wife is with me. I use the time to make phone calls and listen to my Sirius.
CB radios were very popular in the 1970's and 1980's until cell phones were introduced. In the United States, and probably most countries, CB radios are used by truckers. I like having mine for 2 reasons, first they often alert you as to the locations of cops, and second, they are excellent for knowing about traffic jams ahead leaving you an opportunity to seek a detour.
does anybody travel up and down the south exits on the pike ;1,2,3 or 4 or so theres a pretty redhaired girl with black glasses i once met but i was stationed at 11(woodbridge)and lost touch with her
I've been in stuff like that many times. My dad was a trucker and I went with him a lot. I know your foot gets tired from working a clutch like that when you've got a full load...lol
That stretch of the NJ Turnpike whether there is an accident or not always gets backed up. Another section of the New Jersey Turnpike between Exits 6 and 8A always backs up on Saturday and Sundays. Too many people use that road.
The southbound traffic has the option of exiting at Interchange 4, getting onto I-295 and taking US 322 (Commodore Barry Bridge) across the river to avoid the backups at Interchange 1/Delaware Memorial Bridge.
Two major infractions on this video:
- You are supposed to respect the posted speed limit, which is 65 at this part of the NJ Turnpike
- You use the left lane to pass ONLY, it's not a cruising lane

@LondonUnderground186 uhh, this IS New Jersey where nobody drives the posted speed limit and over half the people cruise in the hammer lane.

It started at the toll booths and worked backwards. Traffic caused the backup.

Do you have info on what caused the jam that day?

I guess what happens is that the toll booths back up and even people with EZPass can not get to them and contribute to the jam.
