E-mail has killed paper,no one writes or reads magazines and daily papers.I was at the neehna mill in ripon,california.Profitable, but shut down last year last of the 5 they shut down.
I work at the Pinebluff AR paper mill we have two machines running. a coated pub that makes a 260'' sheet at 6000 feet a min and a bleachbord machine that makes a 280'' sheet at 1500 feet a min three ply. i work the winder. im happy to see that a few other mills are still running in the states. gettn few and far between keep it up paper makers
Nice Vid. I toured Stora Enso's Wisconsin Rapids number 16 (NewPage now) a couple years ago and was amazed at that place. Yours looks interesting too.
I worked in a paper mill for smurfit-stone in La-Tuque Québec Canada, this mill produce over 450 000 ton of paper by year, it's very hot in the mill and high level of humidity, in winter too. The paper machine 3 is the biggest in the world in 1957...now it's the chineses, and here we losing jobs.

I was a steam plant operator in a mill very much like that one. We made coated paper. Very interesting process!

Many different typesof trees are used at this mill they use both hardwoods,softwoods and Post Consumer waste (recycle)

@Neirizz Euclyptus trees are pretty common in paper making. I think they use all sorts though. I know hemp is also getting to be more common now.
