Its really refreshing to know that IMDB is not always right in its judgement and that many many many people have looked for, liked, and loved this movie. Personally I like both versions, the 2000 version and the Rankin/Bass version and no offense to you old schoolers out there but this animated movie was used as it was, an animated movie with not too much singing and tons of action and adventure :D

It's a great movie, but it's kind of sad that so many movies suggest Santa was an orphan. And not even the "his loving parents were killed, leaving him all alone in the world" kind of orphan, but the "his parents couldn't or wouldn't take care of him, so they left him on a doorstep or in the woods to die" kind of orphan! Anyone know what the story is for the real Saint Nicholas?

I think which one you like better probably depends on which one you were first exposed to. I never saw the stop-motion one as a kid (although I love all of the Rankin-Bass stop-motion movies I've seen), and this was the one that was always on TV, so it's the one that I enjoy the familiarity of, even if it seems a little hokey now. Still makes me smile.

I remember, being very young, either 4 or 5. I was only 4 when it came out, but man I have great memories of sitting in my living room, Mom and Dad making Christmas dinner on christmas eve, and watching this and remembering the part where he carves an animal in wood and scares the little girl...i think, don't know haven't watched it in years. Just brings me back to when my grandma was alive, and Christmas felt right. Thank you for uploading this, my friend. Merry Christmas.

thier are actually two versions of this. This one blows the other out of the water. Probably why it isn't on DVD and is a "hard to find" on VHS, probably why my brother had a tme finding it to give to me for christmas-but he did, -thank God!(lol) people have no taste I suppose. I can't imagine why it wasn't at least continued to broadcast on Cartoon network!

I have seen this one and the frankin & bass one. I love them both,but I prefer this one. I personally like the relationship between nicholas and necile,they actually act like mother and son. The 1985 version made it seem more cold and non existant.

Dude, thank you so much for this! This is probably my favorite Christmas movie ever. I remember watching this when I was a little kid during Christmas morning. This brings back a lot of good memories. They use to show this on Cartoonnetwork (back when it was still good) every December. I don't care that this is a remake or what people say, it's still an awesome movie to me. And I will always cherish the good memories I had with this movie during Christmas.
