Yeah, would have loved to have gotten shots of the corridors and bridge set and all that but I can't have everything. Just glad I was able to get what I got in terms of photos and video though from my several visits to the place.
Went to Star Trek the Experience late 2007. It is a pity that you are not allow to photograph or film anything, especially you get to go on the bridge and the corridors of the Enterprise. Even the guy who dressed up as the Borg was amazingly accurate. I see this pinpoint red light hitting the wall and I said: "Shit, a borg is coming!" and sure enough some actor in a borg costume appear around a bend.
No, everything that you see is what I could get away with taping. The really cool stuff (the bridge set, the corridors, the transporter room, etc.,) I couldn't tape. A pity.
I keep thinking of the character of Yogurt from "Spaceballs." Merchandising! Where the real money is made! Never could find "Star Trek-The Flame Thrower" though. LOL!
@seeled558 Thanks for the reply. My comment was, supposed to be sarcastic since it was only part 1, and all I can see is merchandise. And for the life of me I wasnt ecpecting any reply, just some thumbs down I guess, but not a reply.
Thank you for clarifying the situation, I thought the we-sell-you-buy-stuff is the only thing in the "experience" but I guess I was wrong in later parts.
The "official opening didn't happen, and in fact the owners of the movie theater in Neonopolis closed the theater before the grand premier of "Star Trek XI". Now talk about bad timing. Do you listen to ''Trekcast''? That podcast is the best and they podcast from Las Vegas giving listeners the latest news and views in the world of Star Trek. That would also include any news on STTER (Star Trek The Experience Refit).
Wow that is a very good video. I really miss that place. I understand that it may take about 18 months to complete the STTER "Star Trek The Experience Refit" in Neonopolis when they begin actual construction. I've read some news that STTER is in the design process now.
Thank you. Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on the refit in Neonopolis. I was under the impression they had opened Quark's last summer just in time for the movie. Don't know if it actually happened or not though.
Very nice video Frank. I went to vegas on a limited buget a couple of months ago with a buddy for the soul purpose of vistiting the expirnence before it closed. I was unable to document the expirence as detailed as I wanted to but thanks to your documentary I will be able to relive the Expirence for a long time. thanks
im happy to have been a kid and enjoyed vegas when it became kid friendly. Now that im an adault i am also happy that vegas has all but gotten rid of the "kid friendly" stuff.
