i find this stuff very interesting. im not a doctor and im only in high school, but i think being a doctor like this would be awesome one day. I just find it so interesting how you tap that tendon with an object and the leg just kicks out. Very interesting

You would test on the side of the knee to find a "negative" or no reflex. This is done to more clearly define the area where the reflex should occur. It is more or less used as a control.
