I remember hearing about what heaven was supposed to be like when I was a kid: inescapable ass-kissing for all of eternity. Given how much I hated to listen to music in church at the time, I kind of figured...heaven, hell, I'm pretty much screwed either way.

It begs the question though: why would a perfect being want to be praised in the first place? Shouldn't it just be content with itself (lacking in nothing and all) without the incessant approval of a bunch of "lower" beings?
