I remember NES was only 8 bit and Super NES was 16 bit, and the N64 is 64 bit graphics correct? Then what is the Nintendo gamecube and the Nintendo WII?
In the old days that was the bus width, as it was the biggest bit number. Towards the PSX/N64 era is when they gave processor bittage. The N64 was a true MIPS 64 bit processor, and that means the processor can address 64bits of memory at once, most of our current x86 processors are still 64bit.
the title of this vid suggests theres some form of competition between the two ... theres no competition, starwing just plain owns starfox64, the graphics (although primitive) are much a much better style and easier to take seriously, the music is much more memerable and best of all slippy doesnt have a bloody voice...
Why do these games still look good after so long and most 3D PS one games look so damn horrible? syphon filter is a prime example of an awesome game that's almost unplayable.
SNES is a classic, I find it more fun, it has better music, and the babble is more interesting than regular English, and person who talks whenever you get an upgrade makes it feel like your in the game.
I think Starfox 64 is better than the original Starfox. Reasons being for it's cinematic presentation, updated gameplay, and the addition of elements from the cancelled Starfox 2.
But I love both games. Both have their own strengths and Starfox 64 is an excellent remake that compliments the SNES original.
Personally, I always liked the original Star Fox a lot better than the 64 game. Although, a lot of it comes down to personal taste.
The SNES game had some much crazier/over the top levels in it and was a lot more difficult. Although, the 64 game was drastically more cinematic and dramatic in presentation. So, it felt more like an interactive action movie than just a crazy arcade shooter.
Although, either way, the SNES music definitely wins in all categories. :P
Lolwut. the n64 version is an incredibly vivid game. just because your friends got an n64 the same day you got a second hand snes off your mom doesn't mean you have to be all buthurt about it.
The Snes music was great for rocking out, but if you want atmosphere, you listen to the N64 one.
Well obviously you know its a reply to your comment, in which you stated a load of bollocks about me just because I don't like the n64 version of a game. Maybe if you weren't so far up your own arse you'd realise people have opinions that differ to yours. So fuck off with your stupid replies I can't be arsed with you.
How could they have such awesome music on the Snes which had limited sound hardware and crap out with the sequal which was supposed to be capable of CD Quality sound?
First time i watched this i thought i heard Falco say "something's wrong with the pikachu!" - LOL
... Then i watched it again and realised it was G-Diffuser.
Hmm, never played the N64 version, think i like the SNES one better anyway.
What always amused me was how the SNES could do p[olygons like that and then the 5th gen consoles came out and the PS1 and Saturn used to have a kind of "Tearing" going on with their polygons.
I see a lot of ppl had commented about the original Corneria music sounding better than the N64 version. Here's a story:
The composer of the original Star Fox, Hajime Hirasawa, left Nintendo to form his own audio company (despite rave reviews of the OST), leaving the person who worked on the SFX and jingles, Koji Kondo, to take his place. Hajime Wakai co-composed with Kondo in StarFox 64/Lylat Wars as well.
Hirasawa may have done the music for Starfox 2/Starwing 2, but I wouldn't know...
Like all so-called 3D games, these graphics aren't exactly the best, but that just makes things better, it means it was a game of its age, you need to appreciate the past without living it to understand.
I liked the SNES version better. There weren't many 3D polygon games for the snes, which made this unique. Although a great game, Star Fox 64 didn't break any boundaries like that.
when i use the A.V adaptor from my game cube on my n64 it make the picture and sound better quality but how do you get the characters voises to become clearer??

LeonGing 2 years ago
do they change the name of other tittles or just starfox and starfox 64

so starfox was changed to starwing and starfox 64 was called lylat wars becuse of copyright. did they chang adventures and assault too?
