@ihatelameusernames I didn't want to give a wrong picture. There is nothing going on in Canada or Germany in terms of riots or anything else. Certain groups of people are 'just' being alienated, for instance they don't get jobs that would suit their education. We have engineers and business people driving cabs. But I have never seen anybody insulted personally. Canada is very peaceful and, as I said before, a great country.

But if you have the "wrong skin color" you better do not go to Germany. And sadly it is the same here in Canada. Still I find Canada the greatest place to live so far. It is such an awesome country. People welcomed me with open arms as we say in Germany. That's because I am from Europe, as you said.

Your friends are lucky. They must have met the good civilised Aussies who speak and behave normally. Also, I'm suspecting the reason why your friends are treated well is because Aussies very rarely bash on white people. The racist ones are usually white supremacists who complain about Australia being full and we should halt immigration. But they use it as an excuse to stop non-white people coming in. Hypothetically if Australia took an influx of white migrants, very few will complain.

It's because a handful of them are quite judgmental and think just cause someone's white, they are automatically accepted in Australian culture. Deep down they wish non-whites will go back to our own countries. So I have no doubt that you'll be welcomed warmly and never discriminated. The only white people they might look down on are Americans but still not as bad as non-whites.
