I think it's extremely sad that no one even bothers to mention Metal Gear Solid. One of the best stories of all time (just watching the cut scenes feels like you're watching a freaking awesome movie), pretty cool game play, and it's unique (which you can't exactly say for MW3). How on earth do you deal with almost the exact same game every time?
Skyrim is ALMOST as popular as mw? You're going to leave it at that? Skyrim pwns mw3 and all you have to say about it is that it's less popular?! Get fucked.
Not to mention all the gates were pretty much the same and boring to me.

This is getting old. Look, if some reporter on the news says "Harry Potter - the biggest movie of the year!", what do you think that means? And now let's say that reporter says nothing about it being better than other movies. What does this mean? It means that it is the most anticipated, or the highest grossing, or the most financially successful movie of that year.
We won't know if Skyrim is more epic, higher quality, and more immersive until we try it. I have high hopes though! On that same line of thought, I would be a bad judge, because I don't plan on playing MW3 so I can't compare them.
I just hope that they are telling the truth about the PC version not being a port. Mods were what made Oblivion fun for me, and I can't imagine playing Skyrim without some.

Playing on the same maps, doing the same thing, and getting the same guns each prestige doesn't count as hours of gameplay. Skyrim has over 300 hours of different quests and guilds. By the way 400 hours is 16 days, and I don't know many people that will play it for that long, at least by next November. You are just another typical CoD fan.

@tehchocobo I agree. No one at my school even knows about Skyrim. Just thought I'd say this though Skyrim is clocking in at 1.6 million preorders, and will about 2 million games the first week. Nothing compared to MW3, but it'll get more sales when it wins GOTY. MW3 is popular because it is easy, fast paced, and is just so general, nothing special or unique. I don't blame IGN for hoping on the band wagon, it's the most popular game out there.
Actually, I was not aware of these numbers. I admit most of my research went to MW3 sales. Looks like my 1m prediction will be wrong. Still, I don't know if we'll see 9m Skyrim sales any time soon. :(

I hope this is the last COD, if they keep making it every year everyone will end up hating it. They keep milking the series until there's no money to be made, like THPS. Don't blame them for not trying to improve, there's not much else to add to the solid gameplay.
A series can only last for so long until people get bored with the same gameplay, then start hating the game itself. I'd rather see a few good games, than have it running so long that it becomes dry.

@tehchocobo MW3 has about, I'd say a two days of gameplay that is none repetitive. Playing on the same maps, doing the same thing, and getting the same guns each prestige doesn't count as hours of gameplay. Skyrim has over 300 hours of different quests and guilds. By the way 400 hours is 16 days, and I don't know many people that will play it for that long, at least by next November. You are just another typical CoD fan.

@tehchocobo I agree. No one at my school even knows about Skyrim. Just thought I'd say this though Skyrim is clocking in at 1.6 million preorders, and will about 2 million games the first week. Nothing compared to MW3, but it'll get more sales when it wins GOTY. MW3 is popular because it is easy, fast paced, and is just so general, nothing special or unique. I don't blame IGN for hoping on the band wagon, it's the most popular game out there.
