  • Yes the intro definetly has some Indian influences but might i add that the song gets extra amazing from 5:43 ^^

  • any non-indian guys here heard typical indian music? the music here sounds so dam similar...

  • @swaggermehta You maybe meant it sounded like Sitarr.

  • very keen to see him at big day out! too bad Michael Barker isnt drumming for him anymore :(

  • that´s the best `john butler trio` formation

  • During Michaels solo, the drunk in the background is grooving

  • JBT is where its at

amazing live cant wait to see them again

  • very good vibe, congratulations guys

  • somebody smokes pot and listens to the beatles :)

  • What brand of lappy is that?

  • weissenborn im pretty sure.

  • HOLY FUCK, them three are good, but damn, that drummer... incredible

  • Yeah! Too bad he's getting a new line up for the next album

  • what?!!!?

  • Yeah... He announced it to his mailing list and probably on his website as well

  • im seeing them twice this summer im excited to see who john chose

  • it said on his website that hes doing his shows solo for a while.

  • I remember seeing him busk in Perth and Freo before he got famous..Fukin knew the dude had talent eh...Congrats dude for hittin the big time.

  • gotta love the sound effects he makes. crazy phrasing

  • Comment removed

  • the clasic drum beat on the drums is the ancient chinese beat

  • I love how he pulls this song out of the begining part. It's kinda like an unexpected surprise the first time you hear this.

  • do you mean the way it almost sounds like a random tuning bit. its very kool, just incase , checkout jb busking in fremantle part 3 , incase u missed it (spread the word about part 3)

  • Hmm good! David Gilmour :P use that kind of guitar :P too jea!

  • Dude the old man in the background siitin in the chair is crackin me up!!!! LOL

  • best live band = EVER!! great video

  • simply amazing band.

  • I love how they are using those crappy little amps, and other things they would have used when they first started buskin in Fremantle. Long Live Fremantle arts!

  • just checked these guys out for the 7th time in NYC on Sat night. Met them during Bonnaroo this past summer and got a signed t-shirt by all of them = - )

  • kooooool, your so lucky to have been there, and close enough to talk to them , very kool

  • haha im lovin the guy in the background during the drum solo

  • I havent really listened to much of their music but from what Ive heard these guys are pretty talented?

  • It's not a dobro or a dulcimer, it's an accoustic lap steel also called a weissenborn. John is playing on a weissenborn designed by Mister Ben Harper!

Great music. I really love the rythm of his songs.

  • ben harper did not design the weissenborn.

he was just the one who made it famous.

the one that ben usually plays is a pre-world war II era instrument.

waaay too old for him to have designed.

  • It's called a Dulcimer... It's the newer style of them...or so says one of my buddies who plays it...

  • All three of those guys are amazing musicians. The drummer is great to watch and that double bass solo was sexy. JB is too good though.

  • haha, thats not a dobro..

    lap steel for sure

  • LOVE THE DRUMMING SO MUCH. Goosebumps

  • does this make you love the whole world or what !!!!! : )

  • it really does

  • i enjoyed the way he began this song with the aboriginal sound. This band is incredible

  • THIS IS NOT (!!) HIS DOBRO! and i think it's also not not a very old one. you can buy new ones which look exactly like this.

  • thats what you call a power trio. could someone tell me what type of guitar john is playn. real funky sound these guys have. very original.

  • It looks to be a standard slide guitar. The neck is hollow all the way up and you use a metal bar to push down on the strings. Ben Harper plays the same type of guitar. He uses Weisenborn guitars which were made predominantly in the 1920's and 30's.

  • It's a 1930's Dobro Resonator I THINK. I can't see the top of it to be sure.

  • Purely magnificent music. Kudos to the JBT.

  • whether hes stoned or not...the guy is fuckin awesome. when have u ever heard three guys produce music so fuckin different and awesome at the sametime?..harpman wouldnt know good music if it slapped him in face..JBT rocks fucker

  • dobby i agree with that he is fukin awesome but i disagree with "harpman wouldnt know good music if it slepped him in the face" because he's watched JB

  • shut up harpman.. john butler is as cleen as u get.. u fukin tokin bout other hippies.. who do get stoned and drunk.. if u like john butler ud kno he aint like that

  • I wonder how hed sound if he wasnt stoned./ drunk

  • Cant sing.

  • fuck off to watch popstars with you then

  • mark it up

  • simply amazing band.

  • perth represent !!

  • how sick is the drummer? brilliant
