Best performance of this song, lame ass crowd I'd be goin' nuts.. Daniel as amazing as ever, hope his solo / more dissociatives songs will be good because I like every SC song including Young Modern!
I was started to worry he didn't have any baritone left in his voice. Respect his new visions and styles but damn it would good to kick it for the homies one time!!!!! HAHA Rock the fuck on sir!!
I really like to read peoples OPINIONS who sit a criticise a talented individual who has sold thousands of records and is a hero and inspiration to many. You sit there aying he cant sing as you stuff more junk food into your fat face, never once doing anything more creative than thinking of witty comments to post on here. There's a name for people like you - LOSER
He can't sing now noiseadicted?!! Your statement is way off man..just because he doesn't sound like the angry kid from early on doesn't mean he can't sing anymore..and although this is in fact a good performance of The Door- if you want to reference a better performance don't direct people to Toronto 97..that was, as I said, there 'angry kid' stage wh/ is great if you like that & I do also but his voice is so much richer in the performances from BDO 02 & live at Waveaid-stellar performances!...
well, ok i understand your point, but i'm refering to his voice around the period between diorama and young modern, his voice suck at 2006, i love his voice at 2002-2003 was the best time of daniel, i like the rock am ring 2003 gig, far better than this and the live from faraway stables DVD as well.
He needs to clean up, grow his hair back out, shave, and get rid of Paul Mac. This just proves that the old Daniel is in there trying to get out. His voice warms better to Frogstomp, Freak Show and some Neon Ballroom era stuff better than "Straight Lines" and "Losing Sleep" ever will.
Please understand that Silverchair is one of my favorites and that I love everything up to Young Modern. Everything from Frogstomp to Diorama. But what Daniel has done to himself and his music is just...wrong.....
I cant agree with you anymore but even though young modern wasnt one of their better albums im a still a huge fan of silverchair and personally i believe they are one of the best or if not the best band to ever come out of australia and i hope thier next album isnt as awful as young modern
I entirely disagree. I find it funny honestly that people can't accept a change in a band that started when they were like 14-15 years old, and has since grown up. You like the stuff they wrote and composed at an early age, but what if they don't want to write or compose like that anymore? That's what Neon Ballroom, Diorama, and Young Modern have been all about -- THAT is where the clear shift begins into doing what they want and not the fans -- which is the opposite of selling out, so be GLAD!!
And you could also say that Frogstomp and Freak Show didn't sound the same either. Not even close IMHO.
I'm not much of a fan of Young Modern, but I respect it as the direction the band wants to take. And its a pretty musically and lyrically astute and solid album, just not much in my tastes.
@Stoudman but see i like neon ballroom and diorama the most. i wouldnt say they changed those two albums.... they just matured and grew. but young modern was just too different for me. i really cant get into it at all. i try but its just to boring. off course they should do what makes them happy creatively but i just think its a shame theyve gone away from the rock genre and into a more pop sound.
I second that. Every album topped the one the before up to diorama which was utterly amazing. Young modern just doesn't really do anything for me. Maybe someone out there loves it though, so whatever. As long as silver chair is loving what they are doing that is what matters. I'm all for evolution, this last one just isn't in favor of my taste.
Young Modern is just brilliant. As long as they still put this stuff in their live shows, I'm satisfied. Hit the old stuff on stage, but keep progressing in the studio; Daniel's the man.
lol completely different rhythem and styles, i mean i was a big nirvana fan, every 13 year old is, its the first band you get into, nirvana were more punk more than anything, i aint dissing but dan has a hell of alot more knowledge and creativaty on the guitar whilst kurt could put a shit load of imagery in his lyrics - their completely different but equally great
Woow my favorite band broke up :(

Did Incubus exist in the 90's? Do they still exist? Please don't answer that.

this is an example of Dan and the boys taking a good song (from freakshow) and applying their well defined musical skills to make it GREAT.
