  • I watched this til part 3. Is there part 4?

  • we r doing this for our school musical best musical ever!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of our family friends burned this song as well as other Disney songs on a CD when I was young; it was always my favorite. Real talk, I'm 18 now and this song still makes me feel like that kid I know I am deep down inside. When I hear this I forget about finals, school and other bullshit of living alone in an apartment as a freshman in college. And for just a little bit, my worries go away; the feeling that can only be known by a child. like if you have emotions - inb4 some kids are abused!

  • IT'S JASMINE!! Anyone know that? The singing voice is jasmine from Aladdin :D

  • @silentviolentninja They are still sold online, I bought one for my sister because her cousin took hers. You just have to look or go to the disney store and buy the ones they have :)

  • LGBT ANTHEM.....:)

  • i love this movie its so cultural and this song is so good

  • Why cant these songs ever be popular? I love these songs! They are beautiful and give me goosebumps everytime i listen to them!

  • Mulan, it's no big deal, you will turn out in favor with the emperor. just go to war, and you'll be fine...

  • I'm a boy and this song moves me.

  • Is it just me, or is it weird having headstones or what their called so bright u can get ur reflection of them and see it..Like holy crap their polished good...

  • Still gives me the chills loved this movie

  • Exactly how genius sounds Les Salonga is the most underrated talent in the world x

  • Did you know the talking and singing of mulan and shang were done by two differnt people. One for singing one for talking

  • man, i really miss the old disney :'(

  • the best song ever..lea salonga is a legend..

  • I'm 19 and I still love Mulan. I still have an original Mulan doll when the doll first came out, my parents got me a Mulan and Li Shang dolls this Christmas, it's my favorite movie. Disney should go back to these days, please Disney.

  • @Ebonyangel19 I used to have one of them! Damn I'd give anything to have it again :(

  • Mulan was the best princess.

  • I remember seeing this for the first time in primary school. Everyone loved the movie, but the happiest person was my teacher, because she said that finally there was a princess that saved the day! Ahahahaha I still love this movie and I remember childhood as the best time of my life!

  • who is that singing?

  • @sosoandcille Lea Salonga, best known as Princess freakin' Jasmine.

  • When I'm a mom my daughter/son is going to be watching these movies first so the can know the classics.

  • Listen to these lyrics and imagine what it would mean to a transgender person.

"Now I see, that if I were truly to be myself, I would break my family's heart" and so on.

I had a trans friend who committed suicide a couple years ago and this song really, really touched me.

  • When i have children, i will make them watch disney movies starting at an early age whether they like it or not xD

  • good old disney...

But Hua Mu Lan was actually skilled in fighting even before she left for the army : )

While being lady like too... that's why her dad actually let her go in his stead.

  • I love this song!!!!!!

  • Thiss reminds me of , . . ME ! it almost males me cry everytime i watch it !

  • With this generation, no one will understand the beauty of old disney movies .

But , the rest of us will .

  • I'm a kid and everyone who says parents need to make kids watch classics are so right disney sucks and needs good shows

  • I really love this song i need the first mulan but i hav e mulan 2 but the first has bettter songs this song is beautiful and sends a message and i live to be me

  • Pretty much how I'm feeling... So many people want me to be what they want and not what I want and I almost always end up disappointing. I'm supposed to me the perfect teenager, someone who I really just am not, and make this gorgeous life for myself...but I honestly don't want to. My parents don't understand my life will go on if I don't get into an Ivy League collage or if I don't have enough money as I get older. Money is all that drives them...Not me.

Sorry had to get that off my chestXD

  • @HawkWhisper23 Same with me and my mom. My mom is always pressuring me to go to a good school, a school that's better than the school I'm currently at. She is pressuring me to major in biology for money reasons. Money is not driving me.

  • This song gives me so much chills. Its so lovley. The voice the instraments, everything. I wish it was longer.

  • LEAFREAKINSALONGA :D!!!

    <3 <3 <3

  • Story of my life. This is pretty much my relationship with my dad, except instead of marriage, it's about getting into good school. I'm constantly disappointing him and Mulan''s words run through my mind everyday. Mulan, you're such an inspirational character. You tought me to keep my head up when I feel like everything is not going right. You tougt me to stay strong and not let anyone validate my presence. Thank you for reminding me that it's okay to doubt myself and cry once in a while.

  • im

  • I feel the same way sometimes

  • Breathtaking.. <3

  • I lOve This sOng!!

  • Leah <3 !!!!

  • this movie is timeless

  • "somehow I cannot find, who I am, though I try." I think the reason I think this song is so meaningful to me (since I'm a teenager) is because Mulan expresses doubt over who she really is, despite her physical appearance, to a deeper level. Almost like she feels lost and lonely and doesn't know what to do. I think everybody has been or will go through that stage anytime in their lives, and that is why this song hits the heart. It's a part of growing up and loving yourself, and that's life.

  • i would hate to be a kid growing up now with them boring movies they gotta watch now...

  • Salute to Lea Salonga who sung this song for she is now a DISNEY LEAGEND...

  • i want some sushi now!

  • my sister didn't grow up with these - she grew up with cars and lazy town... but when me and my cousins get together and watch it, she always looks bored and says how old fashioned it is...

and its my favourite disney movie as well as the lion king. the music is just BEAUTIFUL.

  • @PhilWasYellow me too me nd my big sista watch this all the time nd my cuzins r lik u guys r weird nd i was lik no u r oh

  • @PhilWasYellow im like 12 and i LOVE THE OLD DISNEY MOVIES SO MUCH i love the music too

  • @PhilWasYellow

How old is your sister? I'm only 13, almost 14 and I love all Disney movies! I could not live without it! And it makes me cry that the kids growing up now (Im only a young adult, so practically a kid) thinks its "old fashioned!" They don't know what they are missing, and thy grow up spoiled brats because they do not know the morals taught from these movies. They only want to watch stuff the Wizards of Waverly place and kickin it... so stupid. This an Lion King are my favs. also!♥

  • @Horse1083 Me too :D I'm exactly the same age as you, and just about half the songs on my iPod are Disney songs! I got nostalgic, so I watched Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Mulan :)

  • @cynthiayl12 Haha, I wish I could put Disney songs on my MP3. It's Sansa so I can't download from Itunes. I really do love all Disney movies and I really don't have favorites except for Mulan and The Lion King. It makes me think of when I was really little! Oh, how I miss being little! And the music is just so so so beautiful!

  • 22 people's reflections don't show who they are inside.

  • @Samantha54210 That would include Mulan, at this point in the movie...

  • When will MY reflection show?

  • nice video

  • This song is just beautiful. Everytime I listen to it I feel like a little girl again with big dreams and a huge heart. I love being a kid and I still am going to be a kid even if I am old and gray. :)

  • 21 people cant see their reflection

  • thumbs up if u like this as equally as darren criss's version!

  • This song is great, everyone can relate to this in some KIND OF WAY. One of the best Disney movies ever.

  • Ha, you wish make up just wiped away that easy...

  • thumb up if your proud to be a '90s KID :DDDDD

  • I wish i cud take my makeup off that fast

  • @xVeRaLiCiOuSx- Haha

  • @xVeRaLiCiOuSx that's coz your makeup's not flour powder & rouge.

  • @xVeRaLiCiOuSx lol rite, but why does she wear that much make up... but i LOVE almost all of the disney movies- THIS IS SUCH A GOOD SONG!!!

  • والله مزززززززززززززه

  • 21 people have no reflection.

  • @Cupcakeparty1 Wait, if 21 people have no reflection, that means they are vampires, which means they may be Edward Cullan. *Gasp* Those poor people.

  • sometimes i feel like her :(

  • T his was seriously the only disney movie I ever saw, is that bad?

  • @DoctorRainbow8321 YES!!!!!!!!!

  • @DoctorRainbow8321 It actually kinda is... D:

  • @DoctorRainbow8321 If you only saw one disney movie in your whole childhood life...then I have some bad news for you.

  • @brc2thelimit ._. That comment was 4 weeks old and I realized I've watched lilo and stitch, mulan 1-2, peter pan and probably more that I don't remember. And yes, I had a shitty childhood, but how's that my fault or related to disney?

  • My cousin is singing this while my grandma is playing the musical part of it. They sound almost like this!

  • Comment removed

  • @Goldpferd ew thatsgross

  • Pixar is still making good movies. The other branches of the entertainment part are a different story.

  • mann i miss these kinds of movies. :/ now all they have on disney are stupid shows. >:|

  • Disney movies now don't teach the lessons that these classics used to show

I miss all the old Disney movies so much :'(

I hope all of the kids from the 90s take this into their adulthood and show their children these movies and not the new ones :DDD

  • this and the little mermaid are probs my fav movies ever

  • i love this song n movie.......mulan really is the best disney "princess" especially cause she is NOT a dumb blondie who lives in a castle and who needs others to do everything for her: she gets stuff done in an awesome and respectable way.

    <3 mulan :)

  • i think we can all learn a lesson from both this song n movie

  • I miss this part of my childhood. I wish Disney would make movies like this now.

  • LEA SALONGA IS PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This movie makes me wish I lived in ancient China. All the art and beautiful gardens and buildings.

Although Disney probably wasn't very generous to the true aspects of living back then

  • I was three when this came out.

This makes me miss being three... :(

  • Only recently found out who was singing...Love her voice - it always impressed me without knowing who it was!!

  • i noticed something, 1:18 is kinda like a contrast of who she wants to be and what society wants her to be. im not sure if thats the case but it kinda makes sense

  • I love this song

  • 超好聽

  • @brodwayisawesome OMG! I'm 12 and love the Disney classics WAY more than Montana!

  • @hadzgrl18

This is proof there's hope for the younger generation. XD

  • @hadzgrl18 THANK GOD, there is hope!! :D

  • they used to make musicals movies. GOOD musical movies. with a right mixture of romance, humor, drama and magic.

nowadays it's so rare. thank god for pixar, princess and the frog and tangled, (wll, and some dreamworks animation as well).

  • Okay, seriously stop with the "I wish my makeup came off that easily" comments already. It's getting old.

  • 21 people can't see their own reflection!

  • 1:17

I wish my makeup came off that easily...

  • Nice taking off the makeup with two swipes.

  • If only taking off makeup was that easy.

  • me and my older sister used to love singing this song!

  • Is it strange that I think Mulan looks better without all the make-up?

  • @sokkacool no. its your opinion. a lot of people think the same thing, like me.

  • i miss all the disney movies where there based on true stories

mulan, anastasia, prince of egypt and many more

  • @lacheyrulez Prince of Egypt and Anastasia aren't Disney.

  • hm...this song.. it explains me a bit.

  • 21 people have no reflection

  • touched:D

  • Love Mulan...movie came out on my bday jun 19

  • Me: Who's you favorite Disney princess?

    Little kid: Hannah Montanna!

    Me: :O

  • @mooiisacat Oh no!

  • @mooiisacat

    D:

  • @mooiisacat lol i can imagen that lol . but if that ever happened 2 me i would slap them xD

  • @mooiisacat thats sad

  • @123456789kbx That IS sad. It makes my soul cry. I grew up with these movies and it sickens me to see the trash they put on Disney Channel, all this Hannah Montana and whatever other crap... People need to sit their kids down and make them watch The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, and Pocahontas. School them with some Disney Renaissance films, not the crap polluting TV. Good thing Disney has the sense to keep re-releasing these movies...

  • @dagger1087 ikr. its sick. Mulan is one of my favourites. When i am able to, i am going to open up a large store with the original princess' of disney and kingdom hearts. Its sick the trash on tv. Hannah Montana, Zack and Cody, Shake it up, Were are supposed to teach children to love classics and stuff. in most disney shows, if you pay attention, you'll see the main character littering or something. children are like little computers

  • @mooiisacat I'll kill that lil kid

  • @mooiisacat xD Just joking!!!

  • @mooiisacat I feel...old. And I'm only 15. Goddamn.

  • Disney changed because the media is more powerful to us girls (or to most of us it seems like) because they make it seem like grils have to be bimbos. So some girls are beleiving that. Disneys messages aren't getting through because with the media and how it is today girls don't respect themselves enough for these messages to have any effect on them. Disney sais girls have to be strong and confident, not sexy and wear skimpy clothing to make us seem cool.

  • what I like about good classic Disney films is that they're mostly strong women. Belle, Mulan, Meg, Pocahantas, Ariel

  • I wish my make-up came off like that.

  • 21 people don't get Disney classics like this.

  • I wish taking off makeup was that easy

  • i love this film, its very true and touching. why did disney die.

  • @PyrogirlZZ it didnt die but they're making stupid movies I miss these old movies! it was truely disney!

  • @stunnah306 excately, this new shit makes no sense and has everything wrong.

  • @stunnah306 excately, this new shit makes no sense and has everything wrong.

  • I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE Disney now. I miss the good 'ol days when Disney was kickass. Screw Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Jonas Brothers. My kids are gonna know the TRUE Disney! Instead of them asking for Suite Life, they're gonna ask me for Aladdin ^^

  • Suchh suchh suchh a good song <3

It makes me cry whenever I watch it in the movie xD

  • Can't get over Disney..... And never will :)

  • 0:27 that crickle makes the music compleet whit hes " rrrrr"

  • This song is so beautiful, I remember being four or five and watching this part and crying my eyeballs out. Haha.

  • If only it were actually that easy to remove make up lol....

  • @TinaB1990 Especially that make up. :)

  • Check out my rendition of Love is a Song on strings!

  • Thumbs up if ur gonna have ur kids grow up on these movies!!

  • @uniqueklutz01 Definitely . not transformers or epic movie -_______- these movies <3

  • on quizilla i got this as my theme song...

  • They say these movies are for little kids...well personally, I think the old Disney movies were perfect for all ages, it's the Disney movies made now that are geared more for little ones.

  • @whostolemywaffles Out of all the Disney movies, Mulan is probably the one that people are most likely to enjoy at any age. Personally I love Disney films, but I can see how the "formula" and the talking animals could put adults off. This has elements of it, but it's a much more human story and the message about gender is done in a better way that most live action movies. Also, having Eddie Murphy as a scrawny, irritable little pest was a casting slam-dunk.

  • @whostolemywaffles Yeah, but technically the stuff Disney makes now is for kids who the company thinks are stupid. It's true that Disney used to be for all ages, but a child has a mind unlike any other. Kids are so full of imagination and wonder, constantly wanting to learn about the world and having the ideas to make it better than it is. But rather than inspiring that, the company would rather just manipulate them into a lot of trendy junk, which undermines their potential as human beings.

  • @MiKAelangelo90 soooooooo truee! very well put, i completely agree.

  • This song is very nice!

  • i have this video <333

  • 21 People don't have a heart/reflection

  • i <3 Mulan

  • how can someone dislike this song :O

  • so sad

  • girl power ;)

  • Well, Princess and the Frog DID kinda go back to the classic recipe. that movie was just as good as any of the original Princess movies.

  • It's shamefull to see my little sister turn down all of these old classics that I give her. All she's interested is in all these new animated shit. At least I got her watching Peter Pan.... it's a start *shrugs*

1:24 - ''When will the new generations show... what we had was fine...?''

  • @lichipoppy omg i know exactly how you feel it is so sad when kids dont even know what im talking about when i say beauty in the beast, cinderella, etc. i just wanna cry i mean these were immediately classics when they were made and now there nothign to the new generation cause there is no major special effects its just sad O.o

  • I am proud to be born in Disney classics generation... I miss Disney classics... they always reminded me of being a kid...

  • @speechlessmj077 yeah....its a shame tht disney dont make movies like this anymore, i miss thosee days :(

  • @twilightprincesspope I think Tangled was a big step in the right direction though, even though it wasn't as memorable as some of the older movies (and with all the money it's making, I'd say there's still hope for Disney).

  • @speechlessmj077 Ur lucky i'm 11 and I like the disney classics way better than Hannaha moNTANa!!!

  • @BroadwayIsAwesome good for you!! keep up listening to them... They have many values behind it... like love and respect for family. Bless you!

  • I miss these disney cartoons with a meaning behind them....

  • @Storm0Wolf Me too!!! :)

  • @Storm0Wolf me too, =(

  • @Storm0Wolf me too. me too,

  • @Storm0Wolf

Yah.. back when Disney actually had standards and didn't make crappy movies. Walt is rolling over in his grave with the new stupid "movies" and shows like Good Luck Charlie and.. oh God.. Fish Hooks..

  • @AngelFluttershy767 I always wondered what happened to make disney slowly go from things like Mulan and Oliver and Company to Fish Hooks. I feel like my little sister is being severly deprived every time i see her laughing at the badly animated pieces of junk called cartoons now.

  • @AngelFluttershy767 ohhh dont forget hannah montana

  • @ichigolies

I used to like Hannah Montana a bit, but it's nowhere NEAR the quality that Disney should be. If only Pixar had a channel..

  • One of my favorite Disney songs!

  • disney used to make the most inspiring cartoon films, films that inspired both children and adults alike.

now their just making films that dont have much meaning a
