  • Omg look at fred

  • Is that Fred Hammond?

  • @deenice681 I think Fred played bass for the Winans before founding Commissioned. I think they were probably very close, so I'm sure the Winans were an influence.

  • If Commisioned wasn't influenced by The Winans, how do you explain songs like Giving My Problems To You being similar to the Winans sound. Keith Staten is clearly trying to channel the vocal style of Marvin Winans on that song.

  • Congratulations to Commissioned on their upcoming honor for the 2011 BMI Trailblazer award along with Shirley Caesar.

  • i am thrilled by this video even though it was first sang in 1984 and i like the lead guitar in the song and i am blessed to know that there is a city of the master in heaven. alan from namibia.

  • @MultiPrayers Keep your head to Heaven and stay focused on Jesus Christ. Blessings!

  • Commisioned basically were Clark influenced but you can hear just as much Winans influence at the same time.

  • @86pimp3 no this is unique from the WINANANS and pure in its first origin. fred hammond has come so far i like his music.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wOW!! Look at Fred!!!

  • Those tags that begin @ 4:34 r something to behold...and when Karl closes out & that electric guitar comes in, man....I just start praying in the Spirit, it's sooooo AWESOME!!!!

  • Man this brings back memories. The picture quality is great .

  • Earl Wright!!!!

  • Yezzzzir! That's it!! But doesn't keiths head look extra big??

  • Fred said that Commissioned wanted to be the male Clark Sisters; you can hear TCS influence in this song

  • Man that was so sincere and pure. What happened to gospel music today? There are great singers out there but very few who do this. We need to go back and do our first works again.

  • alterarr i totally agree with u

  • Love this song..makes you want to be ready when Jesus comes back!! Sing Fred!! Fred Hammond and Keith Staten were once in-laws.. Fred was married to Keith's sister. Keith's dad is a Bishop in the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith

  • wow. WAAAAAAYYY back!!

  • The "Foursquare Gospel" or "Foursquare Church" as it is commonly referred, is a Pentecostal denomination founded by Sis. Aimee Semple Mcpherson in 1927 in Los Angeles, CA. Sis. Mcpherson chose the name "Foursquare" Gospel because her teaching emphasized Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone (foundation) embodied as 4 corners: Savior, Baptizer in the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:4), Healer, and Coming King.

  • Thanks for enlightening me. I really appreciate the knowledge.

  • where's marvin sapp?

  • this is way before his time.

  • marvin sapp didnt join the group till 1991

he's not one of the original members

  • I'm sorry, I meant what is a "four square city"?

  • refers to Revelations 21:16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you so much for the knowledge!

  • mzsophiesticated...Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. This may sound a little ignorant, but can anybody tell me what a "four square church" is? I think my Grandmother used to attend one in Cali years ago when I was a kid. She is deceased now.

  • I love this song. Thanks for posting. Does anybody know what year Marvin Sapp joined the group?

  • im not sure but it was on the NUMBER 7 album he made his first appearance

  • Fred Hammond was so young! lol

  • what are they saying at the end?

God shall wipe away all tears

No more sorrow pain or fear

    What's that next line???????????????

  • Where we'll count not time but years.

  • I think they're saying "where we'll count not time BY years"

  • what are they saying, before they say, "where we'll never have to toil"?

  • "lies a city that's four square" or did u mean the whole part?

  • the whole thing

  • In the land of fadless days, lies a city that's four square, where we'll never have to toil and the lamb shall live right there, God shall wipe.......

  • Man, Oh, Man! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I couldn't get what they were saying for anything. I couldn't even read their lips on the Reunion Concert DVD. Now, I can finally sing the whole song with a little more confidence.

  • where we'll count not time but year...and the lamb shall live right there
