@egertlinkmann555 The reason the Delta Glider starts moving so quickly around the 5 minute mark is because he is using the time acceleration feature to speed up the journey to the moon. Since Orbiter is a simulator striving for realism (as opposed to being a "video game"), the scale between the earth and moon is realistic and would therefore take about 3 to 4 LITERAL days to make the virtual journey from the earth to the moon. Few of us want to sit in front of our PC that long. :)

I always wing it to the moon, cuz its much easier and more FUN :D.. if you take off from any point on earth heading east..and once you cordinate where the moon is, just aim to the left of it! thats it..the moon travels in same direction the earth spins...

Deltaglider IV=Awesome. Good video but can you help me I take off and to the code pro903spec45 for example to get me in position for the moon I see the moon but I am never quite on track how do I get in the same position as the moon?

Is it possible to travel to distant planets like jupiter saturn without course adjustments. I always seem to pass the planet for some 500.000 km.

And i set the course as perfect as possible. Is there a special fine tune function that let me get the precise course. thx...

"Orbiter" is a computer program that basically gives you a graphical representation of calculations for orbital dynamics and physics so you can see what the real astronauts are up to.

Depending on the ships used realism can go from 100% to naught. The delta glider shown is based on calculations for materials and fuels not quite ready for prime time, but the physics are sound. Great program for the space enthusiast and very fun to see how the calculations and orbits work.

i tried it without LEO just obtained full orbit then did TLI burn, got to brighton beach with 2% fuel left, i can never do it with LEO i always take off at the wrong time, another great vid

u should try landing on the moon... use the shuttle, do brief burns to get there and once there use a continuous burn to make the shuttle act as a rocket and slowly put it down.
