Is it just me or is that more frightening then its land cousin? Though I suppose in reality very few people in boats get caught in one of these so tornados are truly far worst. I guess because of the water it is more defined. Also, does anyone remember Twisters? My family and I rented it some years back and I think i might have saw it at the theater or when it first came out on VHS or DVD. I was thinking of the line in the movie about dancing brothers? when the tornado breaks into multiple ones
@crustyeyegoop yea dude i watched that movie its awesome tho if u just happened to be out there wen this was goin on kiss ur ass good by if im not mistaken these are air n water so u coulnt breathe if ur in 1 it sucks into water its basically a whirlpool above water
@tomrw54 You're wrong dude. Waterspouts are Tornadoes that form on water. Why do you think the dissipate and form again when the storm hits the ground?
@JorgeHGPR No, I'm not wrong. Its a well known fact, and if you did a little bit of research you would see that I am right. Waterspouts & Landspouts are different to tornadoes - they are not associated with cloud systems the way tornadoes are & have a distinctively different laminar shape (e.g. a straight tube shape as opposed to funnel). A tornado over water is often called a 'waterspout', but in fact meteorologists do not have a unique name for tornadoes over water.
Those are clouds + "fog" from the splashed water... it doesn't realy SUCK the water into the sky (the water doesn't retain it's consistency of liquid while being inside this thing)
yes, two of them formed, then the smaller one died out (i have video i haven't posted yet of the smaller). we drove down to the publix there and that is where i shot this video, from the back of publix. i think it was on the gulf side at first, then dissipated, then picked back up on the ocean side. we drove through it when it was just a wind swirl on the road before it touched the water again... crazy man... crazy. that's awesome that 2 people now have said were there.
it would be funny to see loads of fish land in some dudes sea food restaraunt

is a water sprout a tornado that spawned on water?
obbyownsu 1 year ago
@obbyownsu Yes.
lmandozal 1 year ago
@obbyownsu No they are formed by different processes. A waterspout is similar to a landspout

Do some research dude.

Wow that was a fat one! If it came ashore it would do a lot of damage. It looks like it's rotating clockwise which is very unusual.
