Music is food for the soul. The lyrics in Kikli by Dr. Amanullah Khan, in the beautiful voice of Jawad Ahmad, are very heartwarming and a true representation of Punjabi Sufism. When I listen to Kikli, not only it takes me back to my childhood where I see a bunch of innocent girls holding their hands and dancing with joy without any apprehension, but also strengthens my ties with my roots. Lyrics in Kikli put faith in the youth and challenge them to shape the future; lets share it with them.
