Hi I am 12 years old and yesterday i got babysitting money (100) and i always wanted to play on instrument i tried the drums but didnt do so well so I want to try the guitar. My friend who plays the guitar said I should try the normal wood guitar but I really want to try the electric guitar. He said that he tried the electric guitar but then didnt like it because his fingers hurt from the strings. But I think that i could use a pick. But I want a second opinion so what do you think plz respond
@ImBillioner well first off. the pick is used by the strumming hand so you wont be able to stop your fingers from hurting with the hand you play your notes on. the fingers will always hurt when you first start out and acoustic guitar are much harder to push down on the fret board. electric guitars are easier though (not to play but just to push on the notes). your fingers will build strength over time. finger strength comes over time. patience is a big part of it.
@ImBillioner make sure it is something you are willing to put in years of practice because if not youll just get frustrated and quit. it wont happen over night
