That's not a horse stance :p. At least, not how I have been told to do it in my Taekwondo class. In the horse stance the toes are facing forward, not outward, and the pressure is applied differently.

This exercise will create muscular shape in the buttocks muscle. I wouldn't say it will make your butt big, but it will make it more shapely and curvy which sounds like your goal. Good luck!

these work. pretty much all of these butt and thigh tightening exercise videos are the same if you watch them. they are just positioned a little differently. just do something like one of these, whatever you feel most comfortable with. the hugging a tree thing is new to me though, so this is a good vid.

Losing weight is the way to go. Its impossible to target a particular area for fat loss. You will need to do cardio in general, and cut calories.
