  • This has been my favorite band since I first heard them in the 1970. I think Robert Lamm has it all over Cetera/Scheff. He is definitely the sexiest! Can't wait to hear them in concert again!!!

  • Whatever you may think of the Cetera/Scheff debate, one thing that is forgotten is how great a bass player Peter was... And Scheff is still the superior player. I know there are many who will never accept his vocals over Cetera's (personally, i think he's better on some songs and worse on others), but I don't think there's much debate on who the better bass player is. Jason can really pick that bass with the best of them.

  • jeni- you can say that when you were 12 you wanted to get nailed by a guy who was older than your dad.....

  • This show rocks...

  • NeilTRob, Kath did play 12 string guitar on the original CTA recording but it was all Lamm on the lead vocals..

  • This is sad..The song should have been played on a game show or something..Bobby still sounds good but not the same..

  • Additionally, I will never get over the departure of Danny Seraphine on drums - the original drummer for Chicago. He is SO much more of a true jazz/rock fusion percussionist than Tris Imbotten will ever be. Danny's roots are in jazz drumming and it showed.

  • On the original studio recording of "Beginnings" (Chicago I - Chicago Transit Authority) remember Terry Kath played the 12-string acoustic guitar solo and sang the lead vocals. Then, after Kath's death from an accidential gun shot wound up at Caribu Ranch, CO, Robert Lamm took over the vocals and switched to 12-string from keyboard for this song.

  • @NeilTRob3 Kath did not sing this song ever. Where did you get this false information from? lol

  • When did Uli Jon Roth join Chicago?

  • Lamm, Cetera, Scheff, Kath,Howland Pankow,Bailey,Champlin (any i am forgetting) All were great vocalists and most still are God bless You Robert Lamm for just Being my favorite of all

  • Whatever happen to the guitar player. I know Keith is the lead guitar player, just know this guy really rocks, seems like he would have been a great fit for the band

  • @atp1962 I think Terry Kath died back in the 70's

  • @atp1962 Dawayne Bailey was in the band from about 1988-1994 i want to say... I guess the band thought they were getting too far away from their roots and he was too heavy metal-esque sounding for their taste... I personally thought he brought lots of balls, and an edge to the band, overall was a great fit in my opinion... hes one of the best guitarists i've ever heard.

  • I'm a little embarassed to admit that I had a HUGE crush on Robert Lamm...when I was like 12. LOL I know he's old enough to be my father (older than my father, actually) but what can I say?? :p

  • i want the drum solo!

  • @mrgamertag No doubt.. that was the best part of this track. Too bad I wore out my Greek Theatre VHS.

  • @mrgamertag

me too thanks I'm a drummer

  • Anyone know if Peter Cetera still appears occasionally with Chicago? Glad that other lead Robert Lamm(singing here) is still with the band & sounds great after all these years!

  • @gemini16th nope. Peter cetera has never appeared witrh Chicago since 1984. Bitter feelings

  • WHAT A SONG! perfect for my wife

  • Robert sounded great on this song but why is he playing guitar instead of keyboards? Jimmy and Lee were really on their game that night.

  • It very cool to see Robert play the guitar for a change. I wish he would have play it more often with Chicago.

  • Robert Lamm still sounds great live!!

  • Robert Lamm may look better here than any other time......and boy that's saying a lot. what a doll.

  • Just saw Chicago 7-21 with EWF in San Jose and it was a fabulous concert. I've never heard Jason Scheff sound any better. Both groups are ageless. Both horn sections tore the roof off the Sharktank

  • Hi Brenda,

    '

Thanks for your warm comments. Chicago and EWF are touring again and will be here soon as they make their way out West to the SF bay area. I've seen them both together a few years ago here. They have a rare friendship and musical relationship that very few thought would make it through - classic old school R&B and classic rock together live in concert just defies normal billing. They do work well together witt the love & respect of each other's craft w/o outshining the other

  • Damn, this is so awesome it gives me goosebumps hearing it in all its original splendor. The 70s were the greatest time frame of excellent music ever produced. No other decade defined

a generation of free love, stimulating

herbs, and a rock culture forever captured in memorable songs such as this. It was the "beginnings" of great memories I could go back in a heartbeat - but this time I would collect all of the greatest LP vinyl of that period and see every live rock act there was.

  • I COMPLETELY agree with your very eloquent and truthful words!!! Just saw Chicago and Earth, WInd & Fire in Atlantic City a few weeks ago - amazing!!! Had a Chicago CD blasting in the car today and didn't want to get out - lol.

  • Scheff's fingers were smoe-kin !! and the horns were ''gettin' off''

    Hail Yeah !!!

  • Is this Lamm singing this and playing the guitar? he just gets better looking every year. Wow.

  • There is no doubt, Mr Lamm holds this song very close to his heart

  • damn scheff lit this song up on bass, 5:01-5:18.

  • this music makes me smile

  • Tris Imboden does a fantastic Drum solo thats maybe 4 minutes long that's cut off of the end of this song.

  • I luuuv this song and I luuuv Robert Lamm's voice!

  • this is the best song they ever did

  • Just like buttar! eh RL? Probably my favorite too zooro.
