  • Hi, I always try not to drink too much water when I eat, I only drink about half a cup (to down my vitamins) if that. If you drink too much while eating you dilute your gastric juices (that help with digestion). I've done that since I was a child and have never had weight issues. I also NEVER drink anything other than water, no soda , no juice, NADA. I don't like sugar and eat few grains. Eat organic if possible. HTH :)

  • You should make this a challenge(for your subbies to set and reach a healthier weight) because when i try to exercise im not committed to it for long. I always do better with a group that is working toward the same goal...like in sports.

  • So true Andrea! I lost 53 lbs myself and the same things you cut out I absolutely have to also in order to cut weight! I don't drink sodas or most juices, no bread, white rice or cheese, I drink half my weight in water daily or more. A few tips of my own are: Take fish oil supplants daily along with a multi-vitamin, try to do a liquid cleanse atleast once every 3 months

  • you should work for weight watchers... you got all the steps down pat there :D Plus me and my mother are in the program... it's really effective :D

  • I was home schooled for one year too and I gained 15lbs and lost a lot of muscle! On top of that I formed an eating disorder which screwed up my metabolism. That was my sophomore year, I'm a Senior now and I just got out of the cycle of my bad eating habits and I'm working on losing weight the healthy way now. Your an inspiration, thank you =)

  • @Gorgeouskika1 Excuse me but i would like to tell you something. When i stopped drinking beer i lost 15 pounds in 1 month without any work out. Maybe it was just my body, but definitely don't drink any beer. When my friend diets she drinks Smirnoff's and still looses weight. I don't know for sure cause i don't drink those, but you should check them out. They are fruity though, don't know if you would like that.

  • @ellzistyleskola She said to divide how much you weigh(in pounds) by 2 and whatever number you get is how many ounces of water you should drink daily. For example, if you weigh 100 pounds, that divided by 2 is 50. So you should drink 50 ounces of water each day. Hope that helps :)

  • The thing is with water , u SHOULD'NT DRINK MORE THEN 2 L PER DAY

    Because you"ll have digestion problems meaning the acid produced in your stomach won't be as effective OR you could damage the walls of the stomach because the mucus protecting the interior from the enzymes could be washed away perhaps causing in the future problems

  • I still drink soda, but it's not the commercial stuff. I have a sodastream, so a 1 litre bottle of that soda has about 140 calories. And you don't drink the whole thing, anyway, you just have a glass of it. So soda's fine for me.

    I live out in the country with coyotes and literally live in a forest, and am scared TO DEATH! I take my dog with me and she is bigger then a coyote is supposed to be, but the only one I've seen was 2x her size! &By the time I get home, even on the weekends, It's 6 pm! It's PITCH BLACK! Help!!

  • I hate water because it literally makes me sick. Damn stomach can't handle anything. Sick if I do, or sick if I don't eat. Any suggestions? (& I eat healthy. :33)

  • @xoxInfecto Maybe you could try mineral water , or even water with a little green tea ..

    Don't drink water before you're about to eat or during always do after the meal because the water could give you digestive problems( the enzymes are being washed away with the water so they aren't as effective .) leading to you being sick .. try it out to see if it helps , if not you should go see a doctor cause normally water shouldn't cause u harm .

  • No flour, alot of water, cutting everything I eat in half & some type of excercise everyday.. Thank you so much for this video. It made me happy im almost on the right track!! :) I don't like soda Or coffee first off but i do exercise ALMOST everyday.. The helpful thing about this video; "cutting my food in half and a beauty hobby!!" I never thought of that!   • andrea this video has inspired me in so many different ways i have started eating healier, and exercising more. one of the things that has helped me is whenever you get thoughs annoying cravings i try chewing gum and it really helps me. of course its not a substatute for real food but it definanetly stops though annoying little cravings.

  • Thank you! I was in a snowmobile accident one year ago and since then I've gained over 30 pounds and it's been really hard. I couldn't do sports but now I can. So I'm gonna walk everyday and each a lot healthier! Thank you so much for motivating me!

  • The trickiest part with any sort of weight control rules, is getting your mindset and motivation sorted out. Andrea said you need to be motivated and most people think that motivation is something you either have or don't have..

    this is so not true, motivation is a skill, it can be taught, we teach it and you can learn it, so you can get motivated

  • Another great tip when u cant stop thinking abt that food ur craving, especially when bored, is to write in a journal. write y u want to lose weight, and why u want to stop thinking abt food!

  • I've been really trying to be a healthy person in a household full of non healthy people and it's a huge struggle. What I do for myself is the same thing that you said, I keep water in front of me at all times. If it's there, I'm gonna drink it. Perhaps compulsively but that's better than having a bag of Doritos and eating THOSE compulsively. I cut soda completely. I walk about three miles a day and I do some leg lifts for about 15 minutes. I'm trying really hard. This helped me stay motivated.

  • i love all of those tips but i would add purging, because it might be easier if you start with an empty stomach (clean slate), im not talking about stool softeners or any of that fake stuff im talking about a real purge like senna tea. for me thats the biggest motivator because it makes me feel better inside. and today was the last day ill be drinking coffee!!

  • Thank you for making this video. I have watched alot of videos about this subject and all of them were just too nice and all smiles but this one was real and made me think. I have since been keeping a food and workout dairy for the past 2 weeks. I have lost 4 pounds and I'm so proud of my self and I am start belly dancing class next week, it is something that I have wanted to do for a long time and you have gave me the push that I needed.   • these are some great tips... i eat healthy all the time and im a lucky one who loves veggies, salads and fruits. I also recomend to eat soups it fills you up and its warm.

    Im unlucky in gaining weight by just thingin about food so i need to excersise if i dont i gain weight no matter what i eat. :(

    And you are so right about the flour its like poison to me... but i live in Switzerland and we have so many diffrent delicious breads, and i love bread its so hard to stay away from it so HARD!

  • @Kaciesinger1 its "distracted" eating. your body thinks it needs to be doing something with your hands, hence foods. and since you're minds on something else, you pay less attention to how much youre consuming :)

  • @SimplySARA19 I am Asian too. How many Asian's in Asia do you see fat? There are not many over weighted people there. They eat steamed rice like three times a day. The difference is they eat less fast food & they eat small portioned well balanced meal (variety of vegetable, fruits, fish, some meat once in a while). Somehow western people think rice is bad for you. My friend who is a medical doctor (she's also Asian) laughed about it. I don't believe that rice is bad for you either.

  • Respond to this video... (continued...) Asians tent to consider wheat flour based food (bread, pasta etc) bad though in Asia. Andrea method about portioning every meal half works though. Don't worry about the rice. It's not bad for you. If you want to have healthier choice for rice, go for mixed rice. Brown rice, black rice, wild rice etc...

  • My family moved to England about two years ago. I'm 5ft. 9 and I've gained 40 lb. I wasn't happy with myself. So about three weeks ago, I began walking my dogs around my (very large) neighborhood and eating much much healthier. I began eating more proteins, vegetables and fruits. I also began working out; tread mill, elliptical, weight lifting, basic exercises, and 30 minutes of stretching everyday. Watching this video is what helped me lose the 10 lbs. I've lost!
