@TomyHun Your right, this guy has no idea on how to make candy apples. You are supposed to dip them in the candy syrup either up to the stick or you can stop just before it. If you add a little bit of corn syrup into the candy mix,it will not harden quite so much and be a little bit more sticky/chewy. This is the problem with this expert village, very few of them are experts. I do not know if they have the same saying in Hungary, but here they say "Sometimes a little knowledge can be dangerous"

I remember years ago my MOM using wax paper to let them dry.Seems she had a candy thermometer and dropped samples in cold water or something to test if the candy was the right temp.

Anyway, thanks for posting. It brings back good memories of life in the 1950's.
