  • I hope he felt every bit of that...

  • Anyone who says "What about his rights". The guy killed a cop, escaped from jail, robbed a bank and attempted to kill (yes KILL) everyone in his path. He forfeited his rights completely. If he would have survived I do hope that they would have firing squadded his ass; people who do things like that have absolutely no rights and should be put through the same torture they made others endure.

  • at 4:55 nice tupay

  • they should not have killed the suspect is there some thing else they could of done.

  • This Is Intense, Oh Btw I thiml that William Shatner should be in the Celeberity wing of the WWE Hall Of Fame someday.

  • @massgator1 Is there anything else u can do other than posting that same comment every few months?

  • @massgator1 NO

  • Very difficult to shoot that close to a hostage. Good job, fuzz!

  • Thanks for the upload, but you (and Basckit13) should try to get the episode numbers/titles and the part 1/2/3 etc. straightened out a bit, sometimes it's hard to find the next part. It's no fun to be left hanging! :-)

  • @massgator1 no probably not because he already killed a cop and he was a danger to the public.

  • @massgator1 NO!

  • Where was william shanter!!! why was he not on scene to take out the criminal!!!

  • @vonkiser Thanks. I never met him :/

  • @jewelsrox123 man that sux. I'm sorry.

  • The man who was killed was my grandpa.

  • They should have shot his tires out the minute he was "playing chicken" with the cop cars. Obviously he doesn't care about anyone's safety. You can't say he did not deserve to be shot when he killed someone and could have killed a lot more people driving that recklessly. It's sad that someone had to die because of some ass.

  • @mangoliouskiwi better yet set up a road block with a Caterpillar 621 scraper, let him ram into the side of the bowl

  • I wish conservatives like Sean Hannity, Rudy Guiliani, Ann Coulter, and others would see more of this stuff, and stop saying that Islamic terrorists like the ones who caused 9/11 are the biggest threat to Americans in their everyday lives when people like these are even more dagerous!!

  • they cut out the execution shot with the shotgun. finished him off.

  • @bhan27

yes but I think it was a head shot

  • @bhan27 Ya, they always cut that part out.

  • @bhan27 Execution? naa, I would call it a "good measure shot"

  • @massgator1 they should of read him a bedtime story, then gave him some milk and cookies. STUPID

  • @massgator1 NO! he pointed the gun at an officer! self defense I would have killed him as a civilian.

  • @massgator1 let's put it this way: you point a gun at a cop, you will die...it's as simple as that

  • @massgator1 Let me get this straight. So someone steals a truck, robs a bank, gets into a pursuit, strikes and kills a cop, shoots at a occupied vehicle (mother and baby), steals another truck, takes a hostage, points a firearm at a helicopter, then points a firearm at a cop... and you're concerned with the tactics the police used?

  • @massgator1 when an officer is fearful of his life or his life is in serious danger he will shoot. no questions asked. If that was you I am sure you would too. It's called self defense learn it.

  • @massgator1 NO!!!

  • I wonder why they don't say the guy's name in this video.

When I was in Mesa, Arizona, I saw this while I was visiting where my friend works. He's a police officer, and sometimes he lets me go on ride-along with him-except at certain times, in which case, I watched videos of police captures.

They named the suspect in the video I watched in Mesa, and the girl with the baby talked in that video too.

  • The hostage (in Part 3) refers to the suspect as "Hutchinson".

  • I wonder how I missed that? I watched all three parts.

Anyway, I remembered the name wrong. I thought it was Paul, but I guess it was Philip.

The elderly man didn't talk in the police video as much as he does here.

  • The suspects name Is "Phillip Laforce Hutchinson" a prison escapee from texas who had a long criminal history. With convictions for kidnapping a child at the age of 20 and car smash N grabs at 22. He was sent to prison for life and when he was on work detail at the pen he managed to hijack a truck and escape. Now in Denver you see him eluding the cops and take the old man hostage. He was not giving up he was gonna die right there in that truck and be taken away in a body bag.

  • What they failed to show was right at the 8:08 mark was the cop on the left with the shotgun blasting him one more time after he was likely dead. Not that I blame them but there is a pharmacist in Oklahoma who shot and killed a robber that had opened fire on him first and now the bonehead DA wants to put him in prison over it. The cop was awarded and the pharmacist goes to jail. What a lopsided, liberal country we live in now.

  • Did you read the rest of the story though? The pharmacist had indeed shot the robber once which was in self defence.Getting shot made the robber pass out but he was still alive. The pharmacist calls for police, and then proceeds to shoot the robber in the chest like 8 more times, killing him then of course.

  • I realize that once imminent threat is over that you are not supposed to continue shooting. However, when one is being shot at by a thug you would have to agree that it might kind of really piss you off and since the thug was the one that started the gun fight, I say tough crap. He knew armed robbery was a risky proposition and if the good guy lost his head then tough for the robber. Like the ole saying goes, don't start a fight, just finish it.

  • Yeahhh not gonna say the criminal didn't put himself into the situation for getting killed and deserved it, just think the pharmacist shouldn't of shot him again.

  • It's weird how the gunshots during the shootout sound like firecrackers instead of loud bangs like you always hear in movies and on TV.

  • in this reenactment/chase is bob wallace played by an actor along with actual footage of bob wallace?

  • Why with these stupid questions

  • just was curious because some of the Aerial footage is actual footage.

  • and thats y police officers should carry shoulder launched missiles so they can end a chase quickly and they can all go home in time for lunch

  • Poor detective. Guys like that should be shot on sight for that.

Well said. But I'd add it's only a shame that the police didn't empty all their clips and ask for more on that worthless piece of crap.

  • I agree when your witnessed doing something and you have a hostage its pretty evident you did something wrong. This guy killed someone right in front of police officers. He had no reguard for human life so why should we care if he lived or died? He already escaped prison and no doubt did something horrible to be put there. No doubt he was guilty for the crime that put him in prison in the first place otherwise he wouldn't be robbing if he wasn't killed he would have killed the hostage

  • the cops should of set up a road block with something big and heavy, like a 621 caterpillar scraper

  • I can't believe that the helicopter didn't blow off that cops toupee.

  • LOL I was thinking the same thing. PS love your SN reminds me of a kid I went to school with his dad wanted to give him Festus as a middle name and I think he ended up with it as a middle name LOL

  • i remember the officer jim weisner fired one shot from the shotgun at the suspect just after the hostage gets out of the truck.

  • The Policeman Killed Was Det. Bob Wallace.

  • LOL glad that woman got away..If I had a gun the car I would have shot his ass back.

  • it came for hutchinson's body.

  • why did the ambulance come

  • Another one that sticks in my memory from when I was little watching this show, the brown Blazer, the cop getting run over, the green truck with the old man and the guy getting shot up in it...one of the best segments however morbid. At least they got the guy.

  • how did he manage to escape from prison in texas and manage to get to Denver?

  • That convict deserved to die, after all he had done. Robbing a bank, a high speed pursuit, the murder of a police officer, the attempted murder of a woman and baby, and taking a hostage at gun point. Rot in HELL, you SOB!

On another note, fantastic job by the helicopter crew. Now that is how you end a police chase. Those men were very brave. They are heroes, as far as I'm concerned.

  • i herd the suspect was on work detail at the pen in Texas and hijacked a truck and escaped again he probobly did numerous car jackings at gun point in other states to get as far away from the law as possible.

  • Interestingly this clip ends at 9:11!

  • It's a good thing that the bullet shot by the suspect at 03:12-03:20 missed that innocent women and her infant son.

  • On February 9, 2008, it'll be 20 years since this incident in Denver, Colorado.

  • tremendous outstanding work by DPD

  • Just saw this on worlds scariest police chase, first one I have seen where a peace officer was actually killed rest his soul. Thankfully nobody else was killed but the suspect. The Officers did an awesome job with the radio difficulties they had.
