  • Smokie and the bandit, I love that movie!!!!

  • Blahhahahahaha.. ...long wordy intro just for a picture.. lol its like being rick rolled..

  • stupid video you dont see anything just some pictures you take that on google what a ASS .

  • thats why it has so many dislikes.

  • finally a use has been found for a Hyundai!

  • "Just put that hammer down and give her heeellll." lol

  • oh fuck whit this intro

  • I am casualy driving across this bridge, when WHAN a truck jusy karaty choped the bridge in half

  • Glad I don't have to pay for all of the damages to the bridge and excavator.Let alone the damage to the truck and trailer...lol The dummy should have extended the arm out on the excavator to prevent stuff like that from happening.

  • first off. as others said that weighs a whole lot more. second that is not a flatbed trailer but a RGN. so b4 you make statements of nothing you know about do your research first then post with proper description. A Professional Truck Driver

  • well it was a hyungay,,,if it was a cat i bet the truck driver would off slammed on the brakes when he saw the bridge

  • bull SHIT!...I mean...PHOTOSHOP!

  • You obviously do not know a damn thing about backhoes or excavators.

To answer your questions: Time-who gives a fuck Distance-you are a retard

    That was easy...

  • BIG MOTHER FUCKER

  • wait 55 seconds for 3 pics.....

    This is pictube??...

  • 8 tons? haha more like 26 tons.

  • Mate, that excavator was more like 25-30 ton. It was a long reach and couldn't fold down far enough for transport. It looked like the tip of the joint of the boom and dipper hit the bridge and got pulled up as the concrete force stopped it.

  • big fucking deal

  • Gripfill?

  • holy shit,, hey boss i got some problem here!

  • I remember seeing this... The damaged portion was cut out, and replaced. This bridge is still in use. I'd say he was traveling about 70 mph. He was overhight. I believe that bridge has about a 17 foot clearance. The posted speed limit was 70 mph for all vehicles. (it was raised to 75 mph fall 2011) The repair is almost undetectable now that it has aged a few years.

  • Backhoe NO Trackhoe or Excavator YES

  • Backhoe NO Trackhoe YES

  • you need a lesson in equipment, this is not a back hoe

  • This song is awesome...! no shit!!

  • see the can't transform just anywhere

  • Stupid Pointless Annoying Video SPAV

  • แม่งโคตรเจ๋ง รถตัดสะพาน

  • Fuck the system sorry song ;]

  • well after alot of careful calculation im going to say...88mph....but only if its during a thunderstorm (;

  • that gonna cost a lot

  • It weighs 25 ton about 55,000 lbs

  • That hoe weighs 35 to 40thousand, not 35 ton

  • Its an excavator not a backhoe.

And 8 tons is only 16,000 lbs. Backhoes weigh more than that.

C'mon dude, get your shit together.

That excavator is easily 35-40 tons.

  • @mandrs2nd i was about to correct him aswell, and the excavator is either 45 or 50ton, the problem is it was loaded the wrong way and it was a long reach so it had no chance of getting the boom low enough to make it under any bridge.

  • He clearly wasn't going 88mph otherwise he would have traveled through time and missed the bridge all together.

That's a trip though, I've never seen anything like it. I wonder if the excavator was ok and how much it cost to repair the bridge.

  • Bad clip... + bad intro...+ pictures have date stamp (fail)... = FAILED VIDEO

  • Looks like a shark fin

  • WTF is with the star wars intro.

  • start @ 0:54

  • 8 tons!? Try 25 tons.

  • Some touch up paint for the Hyundai and some home depot concrete patch and all is well. Just a slight delay, and back on your way.

  • @trec600 fuck you home depot

  • i would say that digger weighs more then 8 tons... lol

  • Really...how could the driver not remember how high it stuck up, and how low the bridge is?

  • Holy shit enough with the Star Wars prologue!

  • THAT ALSO HAPPENED IN OTTAWA. AN FYI, ITS NOT A BACKHOE; ITS A SHOVEL! :)

  • Lovely wreckage! Simply a Beautiful disaster!

  • what is the boss gonna say ?

  • Did he die?

  • what was the total cost of this havoc??

  • First of all it is not a backhoe..it is an excavator. Secondly, it weighs considerably more than 8 tons. So your math will be off from the start.

  • that would be an excavator not a backhoe

  • Answer: 65-75 mph.

  • saw a similar accident in brisbane australia during peak hour rush.the accident closed all traffic beneath the underpass and also 4 lanes of freeway above

  • 75 mph is my guess. That is about a 30-35 ton excavator. I'd say the whole rig loaded at impact was about 120,000 lbs. Bridges get bumped every day and often need small repairs but I reckon that bridge can't be repaired without being replaced. Maybe they will build it a little taller rather than issuing the complex oversize routes just to deal with it.

  • @pbunyon2002 - Actually this bridge was repaired... if you really wanted to know.

  • @anagennao Thanks for telling me I guess. It would be interesting to see how they did it. I know a guy that works of repair crews and they have been bumped while actually "inside" the bridge fixing it! lol though prob not lol.....

  • I guess technically, it is a crawler excavator. LOL

  • first of all, this is a track hoe. Second, you have not taken into account how much the chains stretched before they broke(load securement chains), the flex of the trailer, and how much the tires squished down before plowing thru the concrete. Too many variables in this equation. Also, it would depend on the grade and heat temper of the steel used to construct the arm of the hoe. Should I go on????

  • loboy 50,000 excavator 230,000,bridge repair 6.8 million,stanley tape measure priceless....................

  • that isnt an 8 ton backhoe its an excavator more like 20-25 tons

  • It's one one probleme no ???

  • wow dumbo

  • it's a fake!

  • That's not a backhoe....

  • I think it is safe to assume that excavator has dug it's last trench. I remember seeing these pictures pinned to the wall of a Port Of Entry along with other pictures of similar "blunders."

  • Well thats bigger than an "8 ton backhoe".. for 1 it aint even a backhoe. 2. it weighs more like 20 ton

  • I say gun at the bridge, back up straight, then gun again. Should be through

  • call san onofre scale inspection bay they have a copy of the report hanging on the wall for drivers to read while being inspected on the s/b side

  • che deficiente, un palo sui reni.

  • Just so you know that excavator weighs more than 8 tons. Probably around 40 tons. I run a link belt ls-4300 long reach excavator and it weighs 60 tons. That one's not quite as big as mine.

  • @boomer76 why would they load it boom towards the truck dont you always load them boom at back of trailers so you can get it low enough that this doesnt happen.

  • @calboy5858 You are correct. It does appear to have been loaded backward. The boom should have been to the rear and in the boom trough.

  • I hate math!!!

  • AWESOME !

  • How big was the skid mark the driver left in his shorts?

  • @s2sailingfree LOL...That should have been the extra extra credit.....hahaha

  • For a minute there, I thought I was watching the opening credits to Star Wars

  • One of the gays was probably driving

  • i like how this guy knows all the details about the bridge ..

  • If only he'd been goin a little faster and the lowboy woulda stayed with him a little longer he'da made it

  • Yet another trucker retard.

  • @CmdrGendoIkari All my friend tell me "dumb as fuck, drive a truck"

  • anyone for cake ?

  • arrgghh my elbow...that hurts !

  • so that's how to make a bascule bridge.

  • for all of those wondering he had it boom forward because the boom and stick are long reach and most states require you to have escorts for rear over hang over 5 foot second if im not completely mistakin this bridge was in a construction zone and the pavement is higher making the posted bridge shorter 3rd he did have to buy the bridge and the reason it went so far thru it because this bridge is a hollow cast bridge where they make it offsite hoist it up and place it its not made of beams

  • his company has big fines on there hands!!! in the millions

  • For one thing that excavator weighs a lot more than 8 tons, try more like 30 to 35 tons. For those saying that it was loaded the wrong way not necessarily. I pull a three axle stretch RGN and there are times that in order to get the axle weights right I have to load it with the boom to the front. Then again I always tie the boom down too.

  • I think Bubba bought himself a bridge

  • i wonder if the excavator still works lol

  • thats on hell of an insurance claim

  • It was about time Hyundai does something that strong! :-) Now driver, you backup, give another swing and complete the job !

  • a cut above the rest

  • that guy lost his cdl for this one and if he did he should all i have to say is wow

  • Cool song :)

  • Umm,,, thats not a "Backhoe"... its called an Excavator! A much bigger , more serious piece of equipment! And btw the only way this pic could happen... is if the truck was going really fast in reverse!

  • @arbn464 nope That is an RGN trailer the front of trailer disconnects from bed for loading and unloading equipment. dude is right though he had arm facing wrong way that is also you will notice a super stretch arm

  • If I was to assume that the trucker was driving at 60mph and that he made it a third of the way through the over pass. and I take the known fact that if you double an objects velocity you quadruple it's potential energy. the trucker would have to have been traveling at speeds between 97mph and 104mph. as long as your not asking for variables.

  • obviously the real problem here is the truck driver wasn't going near fast enough. He almost made it. Should have taken another run at it.

  • if you were driving on that overpass and that popped up youd shit yourslef before youd hit it and your hit it pretty fast

  • The driver was inexperienced and didnt know how to load the long reach excavator/track-hoe... however, like others have said, it is more than 8 tons. (more like ~30 tons) the last one I hauled had #11,000 of the steer, #52,000 lbs on the drives, and #46,000 on the rears. the truck/trailer weights ~42,000... so the machine was weighting it at #67,000.. (Cat 325C LR)

  • first of all it aint no backhoe... and its at least 20 ton maybe 25... because of that my answers all wrong and i'm not solving it again....

  • three

  • do we need star wars type graphics for this?

  • that machine weighs a lot more than eight tones and the lorry driver probably didn tke time or had no experience to lower the jib on the machine low enough to safely clear overhead obstacales

  • The bridge was too low, not the operators fault.

  • D'OH!

  • @fightingwolf18 Thats the right answer!

  • WOW someone insurance just went up

  • he had to suck everybodys dick on scene!

  • i was a truck driver for about a year, ill be homeless and live in the fucking woods before i get in another truck again...

some stupid teen girl dispatcher probably sent that poor guy down a wrong road, its a miracle no one got killed.

yea between those idiot dispatchers and all the idiot drunk drivers its just not worth it.

  • I bet the driver was wondering if his brake got stuck

  • a couple barrels of bondo and she will be good as new

  • Some bodys out of the heavy haul business! haaa i heavy hauled tri ax, 48 state. No matter how hard i worked the check was $800 a week. After 5 months i quit. i can make that hauling a dry van.. no permits, no oversize dimesionals, 120,000 lb ... you dont make enough money doing this. Thank God no one is dead.

  • What does the math question have to do with these pics? Not much really.

  • be better if you didn't have that queer music in the background

  • @86godsmack Exactly how is Jerry Reed queer?

  • set up with long reach...

  • I saw the answer in the picture. That is amazing. Answer: A lot of weight + A lot of speed = A lot of force = A lot of DAMAGE. End result: A lot of Damage = Big headache for Driver + Insurance company + Owner of bridge. Repercussions: Wrecked bridge = Mass disruption to traffic + (Shovel) ready jobs {ocrappa lie} + Construction contract for repair + Money spent/received for fine + Driver probably seeking new employment outside the trucking field. - Lesson: Pay attention to signs and load height.

  • @specialks1953 the constructors of that bridge probably didn't even bother putting signs of height :) it's all their fault...

  • @Erenjanak - That's one possibility. lol

  • You only need to calculate the energy per meter required to break the concrete,

and then calculate the speed of truck..

anyway, clearly the cut is now half way, so since E=1/2 mv^2, about 50% faster only :)

  • Hope he Oped for the damage Waver!

  • shut up!!!!!!!!! with ur math

  • this happened to one of our rental excavators, it smashed in the cab and jacked up the boom

  • that would cost more than $50 to fix, possibly $60!!!

  • the first 54 seconds of this video is absolutely useless.

people don't care for your stupid math question, just show the video.

  • @siqbrah dude,hes just trying to be nice,and I bet you're a slaw jawed yokel who doesn't knows math.please,dude.

  • @FALLOUTJUNKIE77 1. i know my math

    2. im not a redneck

    3. its "slap jawed yokel" for your information.

  • @siqbrah yea ,yea, just be nice.

  • try about 73,000 lbs guys.

  • Thats an excavator that weighs much more than 8 Tons. Try 18 Tons...

  • cancion tan estupida esa, that is a stupid song

  • un genio

  • FIRED !

  • Comment removed

  • @seattlehawkins ahahahahahah yeah probably was a dumb spook

  • First I've posted here before. But here are the real weight estimates because I haul this stuff. That unit is about the same as a cat 330D. Those weight in just over 90,000lbs. the arm has the capasity to lift 50 tons. If that unit was sent to rip that bridge down it could one bit at a time. Also hats off for securement to the driver because it's still on the trailer. Fault could have been arm not all the way down but more than likely a bridge not marked correct. But you din't film the hit.

  • @bbaker904 also he should never have been hauling it with arm facing forward! Always facing rear so god forbid something like this happens it breaks chains and tips excavator down instead of destroying the bridge.

  • THE ANSWER IS 3 FOO!!!!!!

  • Looks to me like a $5Million OOPS!!!

  • driving with alzaimer...

  • I'm close to an answer, but I need the ambient temperature at teh time of impact!!

  • bet that guy driving shit his pants

  • Mrhh2010. You my friend are an IDIOT!!!

  • that cat was trying to get a piece a the transformers 4

  • its funny it wouldn't even have mattered which direction if they had just curled it and put the boom down enough

  • its more of a physics question than a maths one...

  • ways a lot more that 16,000 lbs you retard.try 16 tons moron. on a 50, ton trailer

  • Not photoshopped or fake--seen email pics the day it happened

  • OMG That's some funny ass shit!!!!!! What a great video! Great song too. And the math questions were great!!!!!!!

  • this video was done under strict conditions as a test to see how strong a bridge was an how it would hold up to such an impact

Its not just an accident, IT WAS STAGED ON A CLOSED ROAD

  • @mrhh2010 Your full of it,,, Im from Hays and it was driver fuck up 100%

  • @piledriver9922 so if it was a pure acident as you claim, how are you able to get close enough to take pics like this, end the machine is a hyundai rolex 210 long reach weighing about 23 ton so where you get 8 ton from is beyond me.

Go and research this properly and find out the facts before blaming the driver, notice how theres no cars or trucks around its also been on tv about it an they said it was staged to see how strong the bridge was

so i think YOUR FULL OF IT

  • @mrhh2010 Google "kansas city construction company has bad day" and click on the article by equipment world. This article was published in November but quotes the accident happening in February, which is the date stamp on these photo's. I don't know what ahow you where watching but I would say your the one full of it. Why would they do something like this on purpose on an interstate. Do you know what the cost of this would be to fix?????

  • Major Photoshop! Congratulations to the person who "photoshopped" this pic! :)

  • @RerailMe not photoshoped

  • I don't know where the 8 tons came from, but my guess is that the excavator weights more than 16,000 lbs because

  • I wouldn't have thought that possible if I hadn't seen it here. I would have thought the reinforced concrete would have been stronger than the arms of that excavator.

  • I was actually fortunate enough (if you want to call it that) to be living in Hays with this occured. There were a few violations by the driver which caused this accident to occur. At least it wasn't the primary bridge in Hays. Good ol' Hall street over to Wal-mart.

  • at the start y didnt u just say its very hard

  • WTF is "commercial grade concrete"?

    WTF is "refined steel" ?

What fucking bridge uses "1 1/2 rebar""?

It is called a boom and dipper not a "shovel arm"

It is not a "flat bed trailer" it is a lo-boy trailer.

And no, the "shovel arm" is not made of hardened steel or "hardened refined steel" either.

You fail at trying to sound smarter than the moron who hit the bridge.

  • @MrThisIsMeToo

    hfhfjhfjf

  • I love how this wise ass tries to play smart with the math BS, but he does not know the difference between a backhoe and an excavator. Plus this is a 25ton machine not an 8ton. Fail!

  • @MrThisIsMeToo That is what I was thinking. Why would they put a 16000 lbs machine on a 3 axle trailer. Has to weigh more than 16,000.

  • well they already have a piece of equipment on hand to start the repairs with......

  • idiot

  • well for starters he loaded the trackhoe the wrong way on the lowboy which cause him not to be able to lower the stick all the way and met the bridge ..the hard way

  • it would help if he was smart enough to load the trackhoe the right way on the lowboy....

  • This must be the next bridge there working on..WOW..that a boy..

  • props to the steel, the hydraulics need some improvment though lol.

  • ive done that a few times.

  • I ran across these pictures some time back on red power magazine.com, the driver was speeding, I believe about 70 mph, no permits, over height, off designated route etc, etc... most likely lost his class "A" forever.......

  • The slot was already there in the bridge, to help tall vehicles get through. The driver lined up with it and fitted through, Unfortunately the slot wasnt quite long enough, so they got stuck. It's called a "360 slew excavator." not a backhoe.

  • @peto0101 WTF is a "360 slew excavator" ha ha
