@dallasewings I made several videos about MM when I was new on Youtube. It is amazing that she is still so popular. MM is a good choice for videos because there are so many nice pictures of her available. And now I can just recombine the pictures with a new song, and make another nice video later.

Excellent video, Ellen. Marilyn did her own singing in "Some Like It Hot" and did a great job. Also played a ukelele if I'm correct. She always impressed me as an actress, and was so gorgeous that people often overlooked her real talents. Her vulnerability came through in every photo, and I believe this was one reason that she was so loved by the camera. A great tribue, thanks for posting.

A couple of my Youtube friends told me that it was really Sandra Dee singing. But the download had said Marilyn Monroe, so I did not know. I decided not to take the video down because I still think the song is very sweet and nostalgic. And I found a few pictures that were new at least to me. I had thought about using Natalie Cole's version of the song, but Youtube turned it down. Thank you for your nice comments.

Why did Joe DiMaggio divorce Marilyn? I heard it was because he couldn't stand the way other men were always ogling her. Is that all? That was superficial, and it would have passed as she got older. I wish he'd stayed with her. He seemed to have the stability and the caring she needed so much. Very sad.

I guess that I need to read her biography because I do not know why. I was a little girl when she died, and I do remember being very disappointed to hear about her passing because I was a fan already. She was married to Joe and Arthur Miller before I was old enough to be aware of her and her movies.

Lovely pics of Marilyn...but I hate to tell you this, its not Marilyn singing. Its off a cheap cd that incorrectly identified the singer as Marilyn. The producers of the cd didn't even bother to check that its actually Sandra Dee singing....so this misconception has gone on for years, with the track being added to other 'Marilyn' best of cd's. I have just confirmed this with a friend who is a huge Marilyn collector I historian. Robbie.
