  • if you dont like the comments, do like me and watch his videos in his channel. btw awesome video's, you make accidents look fun. I know its not the way to look at it but anyways:P

  • This accident was caused by a misread altimeter right?

  • jstrahan2, have you ever ejected at the last second realizing a mistake you made? Neither have I or anyone else watching this video. NONE of us have any business judging this pilot. He made a mistake, but he also recognized it and saved his butt. To that I say WTG!!! To the pilot: Remember, you lived for a reason. Get back in the saddle and fly!!! (Salute!) USAF retired.

  • I must disagree with your assertion that we don't have any business judging this pilot. Why not? I am also a USAF trained pilot and I feel qualified in judging him. Yes, he did the right thing in ejecting, but it was his error that resulted in an ejection being necessary.

  • So why is this video still here? You said you would remove it. BTW, if a USAF Thunderbird pilot has long lasting emotional issues as the result of an incident in which no one was injured, then he should not have been a Thunderbird in the first place. I would still call that person a p...y. (I speak as a former USAF pilot.

  • OrionEdWood,

I like your comments in the video. Unfortunately, this pilot made a mistake, as we ALL do from time to time, and set the altimeter to the wron altimeter setting. Oops.

  • whoa, obviously there was afuel leak, as it burst into flames in mid air. still anotherpoint, this vid will probably end up on someone elses account with "unregistered hypercam 2" in the corner lol

  • It did NOT burst into flames in mid air. The flames you see were from the ejection seat system.

  • what a faggot.. and your a fag for wasting time to say that.. who cares..

  • lewecki, you like writing fag and faggot in other people's videos. LOL, just come out of the closet and get it done with, you wimp....

  • dick.

  • I'm just saying what I honestly believe. No malice intended.

  • prick.

  • @jstrahan2 I can agree with you, but no need for the "prick" comment. I would expect better from a fellow Airman. I remember back in the 80's when 2 Blue Angels A-4 Skyhawks collided at the top of a loop, killing 1 pilot. By your terms, would you say it was "poor judgement/pilot error" for them to get in their planes in the first place? Not to mention passing head on? Or were they doing their duty as airshow entertainers for the military? Good luck in your flying career.

  • The 'prick' comment was not for you. It was for pipmdirector who left a one word comment, 'dick'. It was meant half 'tongue-in-cheek'.

  • @jstrahan2 No problem, you need to make that more clear next time. But as your most recent comment was removed, I stand by my opinion that you are a shit stirrer on YouTube. I've seen many of your comments on others vids. All the same kinda crap. You're doing a great job at telling the world what kinda asswipe you are. My kudos to you Sir.

  • The comment that was removed was 3 years old. Not exactly "most recent". Thanks for reminding me. I will post it again.

  • @jstrahan2 brick.

  • I was there it was Mountian home AFB in Idaho the pilot was kicked out of the thunderbirds but i say he should'nt have been things happen in aviation and i love the thunderbirds many people say they heard a flame out but the Engine came back on, but said it was pilot error. but i say it was'nt and nothing should have gone wrong in the first place. Chris, good luck to you and keep your wings in the clouds!

  • Yeah, I hope things are back in track for the pilot. The Air Force needs him now, more than ever...

  • So many people act like jerks on the internet...I think this was an act of kindness on your part to pull your other video out of respect to the pilot. Nice to see that these days.....

  • Thanks jeffin, yeah, it turned out the pilot had flown combat missions, he had earned respect the hard way.

  • See your both wrong, What actually happened was the auto lock on the PGL altimeter CNM was malfunctioning due to the kreggers valve relay interfering with the positive PCM down throttle HVC sensor. The only was to avoid this was to depress the TPP and the DSP foot pedal at the same time while climbing hard right...Shows what you dummies know.

  • lol, i didn't get a word of that...

  • Translated - the plane was busted and didn't work like it was suppose to.

  • I think a near death experience would change most peoples perspective on life, hopefully he will be able to move on.

  • wow nice tribute and you did the right thing of removing the other video in respect of the pilot involved in the crash

  • thanks damcorp, yeah it was only right to remove the other video.

  • wonderful tribute !

  • thanks coolayb!

  • you did the right thing man, good work :D

  • Thanks Cpl, your channel is cool!

  • lmfao, thanks man

  • So you've had a near death experience have you? You know exactly what it's like to go through something like that?

So stfu and grow up loser

  • This happend at Mountain Home Airforce in Idaho. I lived in Boise Idaho at the time. I remember seeing this on the news the day it happend. The Air Force completed an investigation into the crash and found the pilot was not at fault. A mechanical failure in one of the engines caused the plane to lose too much altitude during the dive and there was nothing he could do to pull out of it. He was later hailed as a hero for safely crashing the plane away from multiple crowds of spectators.

  • I'm glad the investigation proved he wasn't at fault, griffwars. The footage where i got this from said it was pilot error, but i'm happy for the pilot that it's now been corrected...

  • saw*

  • I was Busby on there

  • I was busby burning in there

  • eject eject eject

  • "claiming to be a relative" who gives a toss? PROOF!!! DEMAND PROOF!!!!

The guy was a professional combat pilot - emotional "stress" is not part of the equation.... how did he pass the psych tests?

I agree with the others - he's a pussy who is embarassed by his flyboy buddies

  • I bet you hit your wife.

  • Hmm.. If i ejected out a crashing aeroplane, I would take that experience as a message saying you can do better, and try the stunt or whatever he was doing agian.

  • Im not saying that the pilot was an idiot, but never try a split-s without first ajusting your altimiter to your location first :D nice videos btw

  • Thanks, airsoft! I watched the video in your channel about jesse and YoungTubers, I'm rooting for you guys....

  • Everyone's an expert on Youtube.

  • Wtf do you mean Everyone is an expert on Youtube? was that supposed to be fucking funny or what? Im not saying that im a fucking expert, i was just stating a fact.

  • So true.. No needs for actual facts either.

  • lol.

  • Claiming to be a relative! Yeh what ever. If it's true then the guys just pissed off from all his air force budies taken the piss cause he managed to get shot down by the invisible man. He should feel lucky. I heard of this bloke who didn't eject in time and he lost an arm and both legs and I think an eye. But he didn't cry cause they could rebuild him, apparently they had the technology and about 6 mill, think his name was Steve Austin, so be like Steve ya wimp.

  • The 6 Million Dollar Man! Yeah, I remember that! LOL, retrotoe!!

  • Are you an idiot? His plane malfunctioned...it was not pilot error ... you complete moron.

  • this just shows how little you know about this crash, it wasnt a malfunction when he came out of the loop had had lost a great amount of altitude so he ejected. Better then slamming into the ground.

  • I "heard" he had the altimeter set for MSL instead of AGL. He calls the break altitude as "35" (3500' I assume). This could happen to anyone.

Plane crashes are funny things compared to car crashes. Even if systems fail it is still considered "pilot error" because the pilot did not maintain control .

Hope that guy gets back to the air, we need him...

A stand up play for pulling the questionable vid.....!!!That's old school baby...

  • you're an aviator, wrh61! Yeah, i hope everything got back on track for the pilot....

  • a classy move, orion

  • o i bet he was scared he probably didn't want to ever do that agian
