  • Thank you..so much,...for exposing the fact that paramedics die in the line of duty; I'ma new EMT...Paramedic deaths are never exposed to the media...us medics are like the adopted children in EMS; here in IL law we're not even seen as important as firefighters and police; u do not have to pull over for an ambulance in IL...so thanks again this video was amazing xo

  • @EMTxParamedicxTiff I have heard about how rediculous IL treats its EMS workers. Its disgusting. Thank you for putting up with such a state and still working. The field is young itself, and the world hardly realizes what it would be like to have just 1 day without EMS.

  • @Projectdie yea EMT-Basic's(the lowest level on an ambulance) doesnt even do too much...IL all together is a pretty crappy state...not to mention we only get 20k from the state..nothing from federal....but I got into the job to save lifes and its been awesome so far...

  • I am starting an EMT course next month, I am very nervous. But I am also very excited :)

  • @mcgzer oh once u start ur ride alongs u'll be excited for the test...good luck!

  • ya im taking my EMT B right now cost me 800$ then the testing is another 350... the local community college wouldnt give me financial assistance..

  • Paramedic in training. Following in my Mothers and Grandmothers footsteps. First male in my family to not fall into drug or alcohol addiction and get a higher education.

  • Thanks for the video EMT-B

  • I am a nurse and an EMT-I in Georgia and by far I have to say I would much rather be on an ambulance any day in the week than working as a nurse. It's definately not for the money. I gave up a nice salary to stay with EMS. Thank you for this video. Great job.

  • to those going through EMT class....keep going strong at it..you will survive!

    NREMT-B state of California

  • I am in EMT classes right now and on a Volunteer Dept all i got to say is this video was very Touching and I will be Praying for all you guys out there Stay Safe !

  • well said swampEMT

I am an EMT and a paramedic student currently drowning in medic school and loving it

  • I just was forced to take a medical retirement after 29 years as a paramedic. Glory? What glory? Good paycheck? Get real. Missed birthdays, holidays...oh yeah, 100's of them. The satisfaction of knowing you had a small part in returning that loved one home to their family? Priceless. If I had not lost 60% of my heart when I had went into full cardiac arrest last Dec...I would still be there. Don't cast stones until you walk a mile in our shoes.

  • Amen, much thanks for your post.

  • Amen. May the good you've done never fade from the hearts and minds of those you've touched.

  • Your a true hero.

  • @LittleTxBrat absolutely. im in 7 years, and no matter how "over it" or how burnt out i feel, i know nothing will ever compare to the feeling i get when i get a save. i just cant give that up.

  • Great vid man, I'm 17 and am goin through EMT-B as part of high school i cant wait to be out on the street fire and ems is all ive ever wanted to do i love the stuff

  • Their only polite because they are on camera? Are you truly that stupid? Most of those were hidden cameras or, and they are too busy DOING THEIR JOB to notice anyway. I have never insulted a patient, and if you see 1 incident being more important than them rescuing you, then god help us.

  • People don't realize; we're not the uniform we wear, we're not the patch on our sleeve, and we're not the vehicle we drove up in. Medics are medics long before they have the right to say so, they are not made they're discovered. When tragedy strikes everybody runs; some toward and some away. Those of us that do this job are all bound by one question you ask it everytime you answer a call; "If I don't, who will?"

  • chthuluforprez2012:

I truly cannot believe that... Though I'm not saying that it didnt happen I'm just shocked... Most EMT's love they're job more than anything else... God knows its not for the money

God bless all the emergency workers that put they're well being on the line when we need them the most

  • I am also going to be a paramedis in Slovenia. But I am still only 14 and I allready know what I want to be. What is that song called???
